Houston Survives Hurricane and then Wins Championship for its City. Is Miami Next?

Hey, wishful thinking never hurt anyone.

Unlike the Dolphins, the Astros bulked up at the trade deadline instead of giving away its best players.  And their manager is a smart, experienced champion who actually played the game in which he manages.    None of that can be said for Arrogant Adam.

  1. Miami will never be a significant team until they hire a decent couch instead of the retreads they’ve hired in the past

I’d rather have a retread at this point than an arrogant prick whose only accomplishment is “People say I’m an offensive genius.” He put his ego ahead of the team and just got rid of our best player, getting nothing in return.

      1. You act like we didn’t go to the playoffs last year. Gase actually has a winning record as head coach unlike the last what 5 coaches Miami had. Without our starting quaterback, starting middle linebacker were 4-3. Trading ajayi was stupid but your crazy if you think gase is going anywhere for 2-3 more years.

Oh, I’m well aware that he’s not going anywhere. Joe Philbin was horrible, and Ross gave him 4 long years. And Ross seems to like Gase more.
Anyway, the sky hasn’t fallen yet. The Raiders aren’t a good team anymore, and the Bills losing mean that we have just as many losses as them. Got a chance to tie Buffalo for 2nd place and keep pace only a game behind New England.

  3. Admin I do agree that Gase has done some head scratching things but I can’t lump him down there with philbin.

We had a lot of defects on this team last year and Gase did such a good job that he no only got us in the playoffs but we were winning games and going, how the hell did we do that?”

A few coaches of opponents like Belichick had his number but other then that I think he did a good job.

This year was going to be crap from the moment tannehill decided not to have surgery last year and the team decided that was ok we will hit free agency and not get a qb because we like Moore so much

Well that wasn’t true eather and they signed cutler when tannehill started running and “walla” his knee blew out!

So now we’re 4-3 based on what?

    Great qb play?
    Great RB play?

Nope – at some point for all his flaws we may need to give Gase a little credit.

Shula won a few super bowls in the 70’s went to one in the 80’ but his last four or five years sucked!

    He sucked as a coach!

Bad personnel moves bad end of season losses bad losses in playoff games.

We don’t berate him for every flaw because overall he was a great coach.

Obviously Shulas body of work and accomplishments won’t be matched by Gase but the point is let’s look at the body of work and let the good balance out a little of the bad

I think Gase is ok. I think he has a lot to learn which means he has upside.

  4. “I think Gase is ok. I think he has a lot to learn which means he has upside.”

OMG…this is what I was talking about when I commented that “I’m tired of these experiments with quarterbacks and coaches.”

Gase gets rid of the one person that most fans believe is the Dolphins best player, a player who was on the team before he got there, because he wants to “experiment with shaking up the team?”

Last season was the first time the Dolphins went to the playoffs since 2008. Us Dolfans want to see a continuous of that and more. We don’t have patience anymore for quarterbacks who’ve been with the team for five years to only be looked at as “improving” or coaches who has a “lot to learn.”

    1. They weren’t re signing ajayi anyway so trading him honestly did not matter that much. Also no coach in the universe is going to take this roster to the playoffs every single year. This is what’s wrong with average fans, make the playoffs 1 time then expect every year to be great. Also how the hell was gase an experiment, he was one of the most coveted coaches in the NFL at the time. The Eagles hired Doug Peterson the same year who had never been a head coach and look at the Eagles now. This idea that you have to hire a head coach who has already been a head coach is just dumb and there really is no evidence to support it at all.

      1. “They weren’t re signing ajayi anyway so trading him honestly did not matter that much.”

And you know that how? So you, ZACH, work for the front office of the Dolphins organization and that’s how you’re privy to this kind of information?

Joe Philbin, like Adam Gase, was highly coveted and the Dolphins gave him his first head coaching job, and how did that turn out? And the Philadelphia Eagles also hired Chip Kelly and how did they wind up doing?…just like Gase, Kelly shipped off running back LeSean McCoy. Yeah, Kelly was really “shaking up the team.”

Doug Pederson is no stranger to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagle’s organization know him, he worked with them for over three years before. One of the smartest things Pederson did was go and get Carson Wentz in the draft. Wentz wasn’t some “converted wide receiver to quarterback” like Tannehill. Also, unlike Philbin and Gase, Doug Pederson played football in the NFL.

Hiring someone who has no experience playing or coaching in the NFL on a team that’s needs an experienced head coach after constantly going thru season after season of not going to the playoffs is just dumb and it’s highly unlikely that it will work out for the next four or five years straight.

        1. Philbin was never highly coveted lol no one even heard of him before Miami hired him. He was an offensive coordiantor that didn’t even call plays, eveyone knew that was a bad hire and the media portrayed it as such. Nothing even remotely close to the hype that Adam gase had around him. And it’s very very public information that Miami was worried about Ajayis knees and did not want to pay him long term. He also did not get along with gase so he prolly wouldn’t of even wanted to stay.

          1. “Philbin was never highly coveted lol no one even heard of him before Miami hired him. He was an offensive coordiantor that didn’t even call plays, eveyone knew that was a bad hire and the media portrayed it as such.”

This dude just makes up shit. Tell us, ZACH, which media “portrayed” Philbin as being a “bad hire” and produce a comment you made in the past where you said “Philbin is a bad hire for the head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins” before he was giving the job. And show us one article where the Dolphins organization “was worried about Ajayi”s knees and did not want to pay him long term.”

And who said Ajayi “did not get along with gase?” It was reported that Ajayi felt that he should get more rushing attempts and that’s what he was dissatisfied with.

              1. Hey SACH of shit, you can’t even read your own source, and even it gave Philbin a B-.

                Nice try dumbass. Try again.

  5. Pederson played professional football. That is invaluable compared to Gase relying on a reputation. I get it. He is a QB guru. But you know what? If I had that Denver offense a few years ago with Peyton Manning, they’d call me a guru too.

  6. Btw I’m not saying I agree with getting rid of ajayi that las run proves why he needed to stay till the end of the year. Just saying you can’t deny facts that you can find in a simple Google search lol.

  7. I’m hoping that Drake makes us forget about everything tonight. At least the D can’t key in on the run as both those guys can catch.
