Forgive my lack of updates here. Wife and I traveled to Europe on the draft weekend (first vacation in like 5 years), caught a “cold” over there, and when we came back, we both had covid. Lovely couple of weeks. 🙁

But I’m back. The schedule leaks are breaking left and right, and as usual, the Dolphins are screwed with not just one but TWO Thursday games. Two separate games with only 3 days of prep, not enough time to recover from Sunday, etc. etc.

In addition, three of our final 4 games are on the road, all in coldish cities. The league offices LOVE contributing to our annual December collapse.

There are 3 separate occurrences where we have to play back-to-back road games. Only 2 occurrences of back-to-back at homes. Unfair. So easy to correct this if the league would simply alternate home and away games. Keeps it fair for ALL teams.

Bye Week is early, Week 6.

Look at our starting times for the first 5 games. They ALL start at different times. we can’t get into any kind of rhythm that way.

Two Monday night games, and both are followed by early games the following Sunday. Ugh.

  1. Hello Admin super nice to see a post! Great you guys got to vacay a little despite the two weeks of sick but hell eventually we’re all getting sick here and there so I think it’s expected now! I think we have five prime time slots so ya…. Two will be Thursdays. I hate them but at lest we’re exciting and we’re not playing overseas! I don’t like the last month again this year and if Gase makes no adjustments again throughout the season we will get smoked come December once we get figured out again. Maybe….. just maybe Gase is going to use the TE this year and rip open the mid field while leaving hill and waddle stalking the edges over the top!! Sounds strange but if he keeps a big TE package u see wraps till a bit later I. The season he could spring it on opponents when they start defending our top 3 receivers. With the drafting of Sanders and the acquisition of Fortson it looks like we’re going to have at least three TE on the roster because neither Smythe or Smith are going anywhere! Very interesting to say the least!

Thanks, Brian. Like you, I hope Coach “Gase” grows up and learns to adjust. Even in games we ended up losing, we always started out well…like scoring on both of our opening drives at Baltimore, and leading the Bills for the majority of the game in Week 18. So his initial game plans are well done. But he never has a Plan B. What happens when the defense takes away Hill? Do we go to Waddle? Do we run the ball instead? No! We keep throwing the ball to Hill. 3rd and inches? Throw a bomb to Hill. 4th and inches? Run a 5-wideout set and get Tua sacked. His playcalling caused many of our losses, and that must get better

      1. I still wonder if it was too much emphasis last year on stats, getting Hill those 2000 yards and 20 TD’s (that he was loud and proud as a goal) to the point it warped our play selection. that has got to stop, IMO.

  2. Barely any afternoon home games during the hottest part of the day. Traveling to West coast twice. Cold games to finish.

Not as advantageous as I’d like.

Very true. 3 road games in our last 4? So unfair. We’ll spend most of December on airplanes.

  3. I really feel like we travel a lot every year. Last year we traveled 3rd most of all teams. How can some teams travel 11k miles and others 30k and that’s ok? Totally nuts!

Seattle Seahawks: 31,600 miles, 36 time zones
San Francisco 49ers: 29,958 miles, 36 time zones
Miami Dolphins: 27,110 miles, 18 time zones

Yeah, It would be so much easier and cheaper to put Miami, JAX, Tampa, and Atlanta in the new Southeast division and call it a day

  4. Welcome Back, Admin.
in 2022, My wife got the COVID souvenir on our trip to England. At least it occurred at the very end of our 3-plus week trip so we were able to mostly enjoy the visit.

Taking the edge off of those two Thursday Night games: the first one is at the start of the season, so we will be our freshest. The previous Sunday game is a home game too.
the second one comes off back to back Sunday home games, so hopefully that take helps prepare the short week. It is also a Thanksgiving game, so that may help (or make it worse).

End of Season four games, yeah that’s tough.
Houston in is a warmer weather team, so it is only those last two weeks in in cold cold weather, and we could very well Iose both because Dolphins are spoiled with Sin City climate. And the home game is versus Niners, so expect another dismal December, unless new DC coordinator leads a resurgence toughness of the Defensive unit.

Looks like your boy Tua is holding out…

      1. He should in my opinion, the Dolphins should have finalized his deal as soon as they signed the FA and knew what they had to play with. This dragging on can only breed discontent and ensure that in three years Tua won’t be opposed to talking to other teams for a better deal.

I’m with you there, but I know FlyerPhin won’t be as agreeable. 🙂

          1. Well I think it’s hard to say Tua’s not the best QB since Marino which I feel means we should be locking him up! Keep drafting qbs, I’ve got no problem with that but a bunch of nfl teams wish they had Tua so we should be happy to have him! The fact that the draft has been over for almost a month? And FA signed Tuas deal should have been done or at lest so close to it it’s a forgone conclusion. Geir said that it may drag into the regular season due to the complexities, that’s BS and that kind of nonsense pisses people off and has screwed us in the past. Didn’t a similar thing happen with Brian cox? IDK I know it’s a business but this seems like bad business to me

  5. Grier ain’t no GM genius! He’s past his expiration date with the Dolphins so time to say bye-bye! So we don’t play in Europe or some other country the NFL is looking to force our kind of football, but we get some less than desired of a schedule. Our 12th Man is the heat and humidity. We don’t get enough games in that hot weather timeframe to give us an edge like the cold weather games get. Plus, our QB is from the South Pacific and can play in the heat! I”ll give Tua that credit.
