I guess one interception by Bobby McCain was enough for the Dolphins’ management to think that they don’t need any depth at DB.

Maxwell did not put up impressive numbers, but still, veteran corners are not a dime a dozen.   He added depth and attitude.  Remember last year after he got benched?  He came back and played really well.   Now if Xavien Howard gets hurt, we’d have to fall back on one of the untested guys.   With 4 tough division games coming up against pass-happy New England and Buffalo, I would have kept Maxwell around till the end of the year.

Keep your eye on what team picks him up…

That would be New England….. they do it to us all the time. Or at lest will call him in for a work out to pump him for all the info they can get.

Of all Gases bad moves this is up tword the top of the list.

      Yep!
Also, we re-signed David Fales. Brandon Doughty must be really really awful if they never even let him suit up.

  2. They also have Verner who plays ST too so maybe that was it he probably refused to do so after Tank beat him out. What’s the cap hit for this?

Fales probably wanted too much cash for practice squad so they kept doughty. He obviously hasn’t progressed so they had no choice. Too bad I was hoping he’d get better…

    1. David Fales is not a good option in my opinion if Moore goes down…… or should I say “when” Moore goes down I’d rather trot Doughty out there and see what the kid does. We can only keep him on the practice squad another year anyhow so we might as well let him play. Even if he loses every game hes in its going to be the same outcome with Fales.

But let’s hope that Moore strings three or four wins together and Gase sobers up and realizes that Cutler should be the backup!

At lest that will end the Backup QB Controversy!

  3. What Brian are you saying Moore should start over Cutler wow that must be hard for you to admit being a Moore hater

    1. I don’t really “Hate” anyone. I don’t hate Moore I just argued why I thought Tannehill was the clear option ahead of Moore, which if he was healthy I would be making the same argument right now.

Remember Moore will lose games for us. He will have a 3 or turnover game. It’s in his genetic makeup. He also loses on the big stage albeit he hasn’t had much opportunity but I’m not some genius who see this. It’s so blatantly obvious that no other team offered to make him their starter and there are a lot of teams that need one.

However this is a compleatly different set of circumstances isn’t it?

Were not talking about Tannehill and Moore are we?

Nope were talking about Cutler and Moore and I would say Moores youth and years in this system give him the edge.

Also hasn’t Moore deserved this chance. Let’s be honest here, he is one of the best backups in the NFL (Not the best that is NE next starter who is sitting as the backup) and he has stayed with Miami waiting for this very occasion. It should be his to do what he can with not sit behind some 30+ year old has been who wasn’t that good to begin with.

In my opinion, for those reasons, this season should have been Moores.

  4. Yes Moore deserves a chance he is far from perfect and you got to realize going into the game that he’s going to throw a couple interceptions and people can’t get mad about it because you know it’s going to happen but he seems like he’s one of the last gunslingers. And knows how to win. Sick of seeing the one yard screen passes that never work. Plus it seems like the team plays harder for him. He gets out there barking out defensive numbers up until the final second when Cutler’s in the team seems lethargic playing with no emotion then he comes to the sideline to fix his hair

    1. HA!…KELRVET hit the nail right on the head.

      1. Yep, the fellas simply were not inspired by Cutler. Partly their own fault (they need to play their ass off no matter who the QB is), and partly Gase’s fault (he needed to put Moore into the first Jet game when we were down 0-20.)
