There were no real surprises with the Saturday cuts, and that is both good and bad.
It’s good, because the Dolphins stuck with most of the players who were expected to make the team. No locker room leader got the axe. No experienced veteran got sacrificed in order to take a chance on some kid. There’s a sense of consistency among the 53 men who’ve been together since April.
It’s also bad because of some of Adam Gase’s choices. It’s no surprise that Gase kept his pet players: his personal favorites who don’t deserve to be on an NFL field. These include David Fales, AJ Derby, and DeVante Parker. Personally, I’m hoping for a waiver wire pickup or two, to see if we still can’t improve.
One important thing to remember is that on Game Day, we can only dress 46 players. So most likely, Fales will be in street clothes. Derby should be in street clothes. And Parker will be in his usual place, injured on the sidelines (Which is better than him playing and dropping passes). I imagine we’ll dress 3 tight ends (the 2 rookies plus Marquise Gray), so maybe Derby will just be an injury replacement somewhere down the road.
Jason Sanders won the kicking job, despite an iffy pre-season. I still think we should have paid Cody Parkey whatever he wanted, especially, since we saved $23 million by cutting Suh. We’re saving some money to speculate on a shaky. rookie kicker. I just don’t think that was the right move, but let’s hope I’m very wrong.

Why the hell keep Fales instead of an extra WR ?
Because Gase loves Fales for some unknown, baffling reason. I doubt Fales will dress on game days. Osweiler clearly won the battle.
Ms. Parker should have been cut last year. Like I’ve said many times before, admit our mistake, cut our losses with her and move on. We could not even get a 7th round pick for her.
I think that this is Parkers last chance he has to produce or he’ll be gonzo.
If they were going to keep 3 now 4 QB’s why not a younger guy with potential. Petty looked good. Unless this guy from tennessee is good?
Benefit of the doubt……. he’s keeping Fales and Parker to trade at some point for picks. With a QB I can see it but not the way Fales played this preseason. Hell my five year old daughter knows he sucks what GM other then ours would sign Fales? Parker = bust…..
As you may know by now, we picked up a extra guys, plus signed some of our own to the practice squad. The practice guys are interesting, because they had to clear waivers before we signed them to practice. That means no one but no one except Adam Gase wanted Carroo, Asiata, etc.
