Personally, I think it’s a relief and exciting news to have Tua back. I know many of you are not on his bandwagon, and you lump him in with other recent busts like Noah Inactive, Austin Jackson, and the new darling, Jaylen “Can’t Catch” Waddle.
I’m not there yet. I think Tua can shine on this team and in this league.
Can 2021 be salvaged? It’s a toss-up at this point. Certainly Jacoby Brissett, the hand-picked “savvy veteran who can step right in and win games” according to Chris Grier’s and Brian Flores’s scouting, couldn’t get the job done, leading us to 4 straight losses. Would Cam Newton or Joe Flacco have gotten us at least one win? I’d say Yes. God knows why Grier/Flores were so keen on hiring Brissett. Probably the same reason Grier wasted draft picks on Jackson, Hunter Long, Noah I., Jevon Holland, Charles Harris, and more.
Why would Flores watch Brissett struggle for an entire month, and not let Reied Sinnett even get a try? Flores thought Sinnett wasn’t good enough…just like he thought All-Pro Minkah Fitzpatrick wasn’t good enough. Or when he thought that wasted draft picks Jackson and Waddle were better than All Pro tackle Laremy Tunsil.
As I always say, going back to Joe Philbin…I can accept and respect a man who admits a mistake. But a man who makes frequent mistakes and then defends himself (Gase, Grier, Flores) is just too stubborn and to arrogant to lead.
Yes, I know we received the proverbial treasure trove of draft picks for Fitzpatrick and Tunsil, but we don’t have anyone smart enough to spend those picks wisely. If your house is worth $200,000, and someone offers you a million for it, then jump at that deal. You now have that treasure trove to spend. But then don’t turn around and spend $1 million on a house that is worth 50 grand. THAT is what Chris Grier has done to this organization.
Long story short, he replaced Laremy Tunsil with bust Austin Jackson, and he replaced Minkah Fitzpatrick with bust Noah Inactive. Jaylen Waddle came with the package too, but we see how valuable he is. Minkah has more TDs than Waddle, and he’s on defense!

I am actually in England for a few weeks, so I get the pleasure (or un-pleasure) of watching live on BBC. I hope they are not rushing Tua’s return because this London game is a high visibility, high publicity game, and facing off against another potential young QB star.
