Shit happens. It does.
Arguments and disagreements happen in every walk of life, and the NFL is no different. Successful teams handle it internally and move on. A strong leader/owner will force them to resolve it.
For Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins, however, they continue to act first and ask questions later (or never).
The Dolphins NEVER have a squabble that just ends in a handshake and is forgotten about. Every single internal “discussion” or disagreement ends with talent leaving the Dolphins. And I mean valuable, All-Pro talent. Lost. Gone in an instant.
We don’t lose guys to ACLs, we lose them to “lack of collaboration.” It’s bad, it’s wrong, and it’s embarrassing to know that Stephen Ross allows it all to happen right under his watch.
- All Pro Minkah Fitzpatrick wants to discuss his role? TRADE HIM!
- All Pro Jay Ajayi wants the ball more? CUT HIM!
- All Pro Richie Incognito teases his friend? CUT HIM!
- Flores and Grier disagree on (whatever it was), FIRE HIM!
This mentality is ridiculous. Work it out fellas, don’t give up.

I read somewhere where Adam Gase said he believed Ross was “not a football guy.” I believe this is quite accurate.
This is true admin normally after people calm down they can work things out. I just think that they wanted Flo out so they could bring in someone to fix the offense. He obviously wouldn’t hire an experienced OC or someone who wanted any control so they were left with inexperienced people at the helm and the offense suffered. This may have been the only way at this point of time of their rebuild which really is too bad.
If this is true than good riddance to Flores. Anyone that doesnt take council from their peers is a halfwit and this will catch up to them. If this is true…
While I woulda given Flores more time, and I am still surprised, I am not 100% heartbroken. We have an opportunity here to to get a better leader of men, and someone who will work with his offensive coordinator and not fire him year after year.
Yes exactly turnover is not good especially with a rookie QB. I’m also hearing that he was a major factor in the draft so maybe Grier is just the order taker and drafts why they think is best. That would explain why a RB wasn’t taken sooner or guys like Humphry for the oline. Who knows…
I read something where Tua and Flores got into it pretty heavy before he was fired. I wonder if that’s true…
Justin, yes. That one is going around. I big shouting match in the locker room they say
Can you imagine if we get Jim Harbaugh? No GM or player is safe. Ross loves Harbaugh so much and he will take Harbaugh’s side in any disagreement.
I haven’t studied the details, but I know there is some backroom tension that got Doug Pederson fired from Philly. I mean, he just won a Super Bowl with a backup QB, and a year later he’s gone? Doug may not want to come to a team (like Miami) where the owner is too active in the team. He may prefer someone like Jacksonville, where the owner stays far away
Eagles fan told me that he let Rosen buy the groceries was very humble and said I’m just the coach. He wanted to promote his QB coach to OC and Rosen stepped in and said no. Pederson was in his full rights to pick his OC as that’s the coaches area. They disagreed Pederson left and I don’t blame him he never overstepped his jurisdiction. From hearing that I’d be fine with him although the Bears just interviewed him so he’s being looked at elsewhere.
Some people full on believe it’s Harbaugh but they feel they have to follow protocol. Harbaugh would have to resign first for this to happen and I haven’t seen anything yet.
Flores interviewing with the Bears. Dolphins at Bears Week One. Mark my words.
Whoever gets Flores is gonna get a great coach. We keep hearing about the Bears going after Flores and we’re going after Harbaugh. What people don’t understand is that Harbaugh is better suited for the Bears job since he played for them the majority of his career. I just read a story about how we should go after Nick Saban again. I’m all for that as he would be my top target.
Here’s an article on Ross’s favorite:

Yep that’s sad. I’m hearing that Flo wanted Watson not sure about Ross perhaps Ross spoke to him and said there’s no way we can do this with your cloud hanging over. Who really knows though but this is not cool I don’t Watson here unless every single one of the ladies is happy in the end.
If this owner and GM (bec. it’s going to be those two making the decision) make a HC decision that is another OC, Asst. OC or some degree of non-head coach hire, I’ll lose my $hit. We hear same rhetoric that that dribbled from their mouths, we exhaust all potential applicants, hire the best choice, blah, blahblah, blah. They haven’t
gotten it right in how many head coach hires??? Why this time?? I can’t stand Ross (you couldn’t tell right?) and the only way out is a one-way trip. I think Dolphin fans have been in football purgatory long enough. This communication decoy that Ross has tossed out there is a bit too soft for me to begin to believe. There are disagreements in all teams with coaches, players etc. Green Bay Packers didn’t have the best relationship with Rodgers and their HC the first year…look where they are going…Playoffs!!!!
Agreed they need some stability now so why not hire a an offensive coach who is a super bowl winner? Just makes too much sense. I’d even keep Boyer as he looks like he’s getting it now and if he bolts then grab one of those vet coaches as your DC. Pederson would fit like a glove or even Harbaugh if Ross pulls it off.
Yes, I think Boyer earned a job. However, new head coaches very rarely, if ever, retain many people. Ross can’t tell any candidate that “You get to be head coach, but you must keep a bunch of Flores’s guys around.”
Houston fired David Culley. Will be interesting if Floes goes to coach the Texans and perhaps then DeShaun will stay put in Texas and the rumors will finally finally end?
