The Dolphins lost the game and their starting quarterback, leaving Dolphins Nation with a numb feeling and a lot of doubt. Teddy Bridgewater had some nice moments, but is he a guy who can lead us for while Tua recovers? IF he recovers? That injury looked serious, folks.
The hit was borderline dirty too, as the defender totally whipped the much lighter Tua to the ground.
Xavien Howard coming out of the game with a sore butt? I don’t get that.
Mike Gesicki and Teddy getting crossed up on that final interception…right when we were moving in for the winning TD? That one hurt. Still watching that play to see who F’ed up, and I can’t tell. I’m sure they’ll ask Mike McDaniel about it, and he won’t say. We may never know, but one of those two guys cost us the game late.
Even if you’re not religious, say a little prayer for #1. He doesn’t deserve to be put on the shelf like this.
Hope you’re back soon, Tua.

Prayers to Tua. I’ve always supported the guy. I don’t see this team being higher than 8-9 with Teddy Bridgewater. He’s definitely not the answer.
Don’t kill me for saying this but I think brisset might have been better as a backup. He didn’t even have near the talent and would have beat the 2-0 raiders if the refs didn’t interfere. Look at what he is doing with the browns. Maybe Bridgewater will be better with more reps and practice with the first team but man did he look bad. We would definitely be better having kept brisset with this talent as a backup if bridgewater doesn’t get better
Perhaps… But in re-watching some parts of the game, I am gaining a little confidence in Teddy B. First of all, he admitted the mistake was his fault. He just mis-threw the ball badly and had nothing on it. Gesicki was in the right place, but TB threw it 10 yards behind him.
Second, TB said the mood on the sidelines was everyone asking about Tua all through the second half. Even Mike McD said that he felt like “tapping out” after Tua was hurt. That sucked all the juice out of the team.
Despite all that, we were in a position to win right before Teddy’s bad throw. Otherwise he was like 14 for 23 or something like that…not horrible. The running game was going well too.
Don’t get me wrong, I too was saying we are doomed with TB in there, but I feel a bit better about him now after re-watching the game and hearing him own up to what was going on. I suspect (hunch only) that they’ll keep Tua in protocol for October. So we will have Teddy for 4 to 5 weeks.
Also, this isn’t a time to speculate, but it is certainly encouraging that he was released from the hospital after an hour or two. With all the safety precautions these days (in sports and otherwise), it would be very prudent and safer to admit him for a few days, let him rest, get more tests, etc. etc. But to go from the strapped-in cart to walking out of the hospital in a few hours? That tells me that it was not as bad as we all feared at first. He must have shown SIGNIFICANT improvement and recovery while at the hospital, or no doctor in his right mind would have released him.
The hit by Tupou was more than borderline dirty. It looked like a pro wrestling takedown designed to pound someone into the ground. Can’t believe the media isn’t talking about that (although I can guess why they’re not). Tupou didn’t have to pound him into the ground like that. He should be charged for that criminal hit.
Also the greedy NFL is culpable for having games on Thursday nights. Players need more than a few days to recuperate before playing again, but the NFL doesn’t care as long as they’re making more money. The away team on Thursday night also is at a huge disadvantage.
I’m fine with the NFL making money…but they can make just as much money if they have these games on a Saturday.
I agree with everything you said SHEMP. And I’ll also add that when the NFL announced that games will be played on Thursdays, players and fans didn’t like it and said that they thought the NFL was supposed to be looking out more for players safety? NFL players also said that they felt playing on Thursdays certainly wasn’t near enough time for their bodies to get over the aches and pain they feel from playing professional football. And so I think the NFL also has some culpability in Tua’s concussion.
Now, if you guys remember, Tua threw a perfect pass to his receiver in the end zone and he dropped it. After that, the Dolphins only got three points instead of seven. The Dolphins field goal kicker missed, and a kicked extra point hit the upright. Couple all that with a tough game against Buffalo in the heat and humidity in South Florida just this Sunday along with Tua receiving a concussion.. man, that was a lot to overcome for a backup quarterback.

“The fencing motions of his hands and how scary that looks…that only lasts a few seconds and then they are back to normal.” VERY good to hear.
The 4 days between two games is very hard, risky and challenging for players and teams…..Here’s a proposal: Coordinate the Thursday night game with a bye week. Each team that plays on Thursday night has the previous weekend off.
There is only three days after a Sunday game to rest before a Thursday game. They play on Sunday, rest on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then play again on Thursday.
An interesting read although I think most of us suspected it anyway…
