The Dolphins and Texans both rank in the 30s of most power polls, and we cannot argue.   I would place Houston at 32 and Miami at 31, but different polls vary.

In any case, as bad as the Dolphins are, this week we have a good chance to win against an equally bad opponent.   We could not take advantage of a terrible Jags team or the Falcons and Colts either, but the Texans are a step below those guys.  We might win!

If you look at the rosters, I see the Dolphins have the advantage at every position.  The Texans have a clear advantage on the coaching side.   This is the third game this year where Brian Flores will be going up against a rookie head coach, and Flores has been outsmarted each time before.  Let’s hope the Dolphins can play up to their potential this week, avoid mistakes, and take advantage of our superior roster.  The Dolphins haven’t won at home all season, so let’s hope for a change starting now.

The early blight of this season can become a distant memory if we get out of 2021 at around 6-11 or maybe 7-10.   But 1-16 will not feel very good.

  1. I’m not even sure what to expect but I simply want to see some growth. May as well play some rookies like Iggy and Long. They should have moved a TE out to make room for him. Find out what you have for next season. Either way Tua has the rest of the season to show what he can do and end all rumors. I know it’s not easy when you have a crap oline but I’m sure the evaluators can see the good through this.

For me, It’s Jaelin Phillips. He’s been bull-rushing all year long, and I’d like to see him develop better technique. And Jevon Holland. I keep saying that he hasn’t done anything good all year long, but lots of online commenters love the kid for some reason. The amount of tackle you make shouldn’t count if you’ve already let the WR burn you. Yes, you’re credited with a tackle, but what about allowing the 25-yard completion before your tackle?

  2. Worst owner in sports and a complete embarrassment to the Franchise/City of Miami. Goes off the reservation and insists on talking directly to Watson and undermines his lame GM, idiot coach and solid QB in the process. What a complete idiot and buffoon. I’ve been saying for more than a decade that we are doomed as long as Ross owns the team and he just proved it again with his classless and clueless move. It all starts at the top. No well run organization would have done what Ross just did. He is universally getting ripped today. Sell the team you freakin douchebag and let someone who genuinely cares about Miami take over!

    1. Agreed. I heard that in Hoch and Crowder that Ross spoke directly to Deshaun last night. A deal could not be met due to the complexities of the deal. We are doomed as long as Ross owns the Dolphins.

    2. My buddy the Rams fan called today to congratulate me. I said why? He goes, “Because you were NOT stupid enough to trade for Watson.”

  3. It’s been several years since Ross embarrassed us fans. He used to do it regularly. Let’s just be grateful that the deal broke down, but be worried because on March 1, the new trade season is wide open again

  4. Would anyone consider signing for DeSean Jackson? A vetern receiver considering none of our receivers can stay healthy. He is healty and might help. Plus the Rams will be paying for most of his contract.

    1. I would be a great pick up IF: 1) we actually called deep vertical routes in the passing game and 2) if our QB had enough protection in the pocket to throw deep. I went to school with DeSean Jackson (CAL). The dude is the ultimate deep threat and can take the top off any defense. It won’t work in Miami because, well…we have super fast Waddle running 5 yard horizontal patterns all game and nullifying his own incredible speed. Oh, and one more thing about DeSean Jackson for the stat heads: “Jackson has recorded the most 60-plus-yard TDs (24) in NFL history and ranks sixth all time in yards per reception (17.4).” Our idiots offensive coaches would have no clue what to do with an electric guy like that.

      1. I mean drop Fuller (I dont know the details of his deal) as he is always hurt, Trade D Parker, as he cant get separation and is only good for jump balls. Pick up DJ. As is stands now, we have two guys that get separation, Gesicki and Waddle. Why not add DJ?

          1. Sorry, DeSean Jackson from the Rams.

Ah, yes. I’m leery of more weapons for our offense until they can get a line to protect Tua/Brissett/Watson/Anyone
