Which incorrect decision by the genius QB Whisperer hurt us the most:

  1.   Calling a pass play (while leaving JJ Watt unblocked and leaving Frank Gore fully covered) when we needed on inch.  25 millimeters.  And he called a pass.
  2.  Calling an onside kick when we had recovered all momentum.
  3.  Hiring his friend Matt Burke instead of a reputable defensive coach.

We don’t often get the network’s top analysts covering Miami games, but I was agreeing all night long in our chatroom with Troy Aikman.   Troy was criticizing Gase all night (rightfully so) instead of saying how smart he was like other analysts do.   A+ to Aikman for realizing that Gase sucks.

  1. Tough call but I’d say 4th and inches play call. . atrocious!

Not sure about Burke but he can’t tackle or passrush that’s on the players too…

Burke was furious on the sideline. Which means a blown assignment. Which means the players’ IQs are at fault. On a few plays anyway. The rest were hard to tell whose fault.
ZERO pass rush for the past month. a MONTH

  2. 1,2&3. Osweiler is no better or worse than Tranny,so why pay 20M per year for the same performance? How many times have I said this is a crap team? For the 1st time,I’m saying we break up this perennial 5-7 win team and start over, like the Raiders. They have 3 1st round picks. We could trade what little talent we have and or possibly package a few players for a 1st rounder. Ms. Parker upped her value tonight and may get us a 4th rounder.

    1. I don’t know Osis a statue can’t even fall forward for 3 yards and a first he’s 6’7!!! He hasn’t been brutal but he’s a backup very clear. Missed a lot of wide open guys and threw numerous passes to the D.

A few wide open guys were missed for sure

  3. I say it every week but the refs missed at least 3 head to head hits on us tonight. And that obvious pass interference in the flat on a 3rd down early on.

Aikman explained the rule that the ball never crossed the line of scrimmage, so all PI is off.

But yes, Drake got facemasked badly, and all the old men missed it. Grant got drilled defenselessly twice in the back and no calls.

      1. Karma Grant was hit in the helmet at the end and hurt refs didn’t throw a flag but they ran the clock because Fins didn’t have a TO! Cracked me up. Gesicki also took hit to helmet and nothing…

      2. That is totally wrong by Aikman. Yes Grant was abused on that paly.

        1. I gave up and didn’t see last play. What happened? What did Aikman say?

  4. I’m torn between the 4&inches call and the onside kick. But if I’m forced to choose one it would be the onside call

  5. We recovered after the 4th down gaffe, so that was not game changer. The stupid nonside kick ended the game

    1. I hear ya but Houston would have simply taken more time off the clock and still scored a TD. If Gase sneaks it and they score a TD they could have been up 14-0 in the first quarter. May have taken Houston out of their run game a bit…

  6. By far the 4th and inches you just don’t go for it in that situation. Defense is so bad it’s unreal. Last week 250 yards rushing, this week 5 passing TDS. Burke should be packing his bags tonight that’s just unacceptable. Offensively Brock left at least 13 points on the field with the miss to grant before halftime, missing a wide open Parker for a TD and missing a wide out Giescki for a first down. Even if he didn’t miss any of those Miami still loses. The Texans could of scored 50 if Miami’s offense actually kept pressure on them. Tannehill will be back hopefully next week and he can finish the year out. After that burn the whole thing to the ground. There’s some young guys on this team so now is the time to bring in real coaches before their careers are wasted playing for Gase and Burke.

    1. It’s already blowing up not much more that you can do ha! 10 days off is this fixable… not looking likely. Even if they fire Burke a new DC can’t teach them to tackle that quickly.

    2. Reminds you of the Marino years when they had to score 45 to win.

  7. 1. The onside kick was by far the worst decision. Honorable mention goes to the field goals in the 4th quarter when it was clear we needed touchdowns.

    2. Burke looked like a complete fool tonight, he was furious on the sideline because HIS defense was pathetic in the second half. I thought one on the jobs of a coach was to make adjustments? Not have all the adjustments made on you.

    3. The last play of the game was an embarrassment. Grant gets blasted in the head, and they penalize US by running the clock out! HAHAHA, that’s the NFL for ya. I know the game was essentially over, but that would have been a great way to show that you are always vigilant for players safety by throwing a flag in garbage time and giving a fine.

That’s my two (three actually) cents.

  8. This is the worst defense I have ever seen. There is zero ability to read a play. Do the linebackers ever read the guards? Do they know that if the beat the guard to the gap the play is busted? The corners are not even within 5 yards of their receivers, unless they hold. This is now 5 games in a row where the d-line gets beat on every play by the opponents o-line. This is 100% coaching, there is no way a defense can be gutted in both the pass and run by every team.

  9. Now be nice ADMIN… you’re the one that said “LET’S BE POSITIVE ABOUT ADAM GASE FOR A CHANGE….”

    Lol……

Phil, one of the points I made in the live chat last night was that for all the good things Adam Gase does, it doesn’t last. He makes good decisions… inconsistently.
He watches Frank Gore gain 5 yards every single time he hands off to him. So then Gase gets Gore on a roll. Everyone happy. And then–for reasons known only to Gase—he “mixes it up.” And by mix it up, I mean he tries to outwit the defense.
He calls on Amendola to create plays (and he’s successful), but then he switches and tries to force Mike Gisecki to make a play (and he fails).
There really is a lot to feel positive about, but it doesn’t last. 🙁

      1. So are you saying you’re “NOT BEING POSITIVE ABOUT ADAM GASE” now?

        1. Author

I’m positive about him SOMETIMES. It’s unfair to say “he does nothing right.”
I mean, he designed schemes to neutralize Khalil Mack, JJ Watt (except for a few plays) and Jadeveon Clowney. And that is a positive.
Of course, he has the infuriating history of taking all his positives and tossing them out the window…like calling an onside kick

          1. Cause he is an offensive coordinator not a head coach. I read an article where the dude actually said he takes a hands off approach with the defense and let’s Burke do everything. Is there any other head coach in the NFL that only pays attention to one side of the game?

            1. Author

yes, he has said that for years. He gives ZERO attention to the defense and lets Matt Burke lose games for us without interfering.
When a guy is successful and proves himself, then you back off and on’t interfere. But when a guy is a sucky amateur, then you step in and be the man!

              1. Burke who like Gase is on an audition for 3-4 years since both have ZERO experience on the current positions. Why do we continue to give auditions for HC and DC positions? The are both abject failures!

      2. The problem with this team is not the personnel, but rather the coaching. That is where the problem lies. Gase continues do bonehead shit every Sunday. Run the friggn ball you moron. Gore and Drake are gashing defenses. The o-line is doing a good job run blocking. Te running game opens everything up, but Gase doesn’t run enough. Once again 4th and 1 and this bum dials up a pass play when Gore was gashing them. It’s coaching people, say what you want about Thill but the kid is solid not great but solid. Gase does not put his players in the best positions to succeed. They had Houston early in the game . the fins were moving the ball at will on the ground and Gase chose not to wear them out early with the run game. Get that first down on 4th down and you probably score a TD. Gase gotta go he is the problem along with his I
        nept staff.

        1. Author

Preaching to the choir, Larry. A lot of my readers get on my back because I like to run the ball all the time. But that isn’t true. I don’t wan to run the ball all the time. I just want to run it when it’s effective to run it.
Against Oakland and the Jets, we couldn’t run the ball at all, so that was easily a time to pass more. And we won both games. But when the run IS working, then I say we run it more. It’s beyond human comprehension how the entire world can watch Frank Gore gash through the overrated Texans every single time he touches the ball…but then his coach sits him on the bench so he can try a 2-yard pass to Mike Gisecki instead. I understand player development…but NOT at the expense of winning games. I wish Adam Gase understood that.

          1. Its a proven fact that if you can run the ball down another teams throat you are going to win a high percentage of games. Of course you need to stop the run on D which has been the problem…. but you are correct when it’s working keep doing it!
