One of the whacky and unfair quirks of the NFL schedule is the fact that every 4 years, all the teams in one division play the teams in another division from the other conference. This year, we drew the NFC North. And they are all tough teams.
So what’s unfair about that, you ask? Well, you have to look at the big playoff picture. We can win our division and make the playoffs. In our division, we have three opponents who all play the same 4 NFC North teams. That’s fair and I have no issue with it. However…there are two precious wildcard openings also available, and in the wild card battle, all 15 other AFC teams are the opponent. And here’s where the schedule gets odd.
And the Dolphins always always seem to get screwed by fate.
The NFC North has 4 strong teams. We have to play that division. Our wildcard competitors in the AFC South (Jaguars, Titans, Colts, Texans), however, get to play the ridiculously woeful NFC East. Not one team in that division has a winning record. The Eagles are off to a slow start and might recover their Super Bowl form, but the other 3 teams in that division are doormats. We always seem to draw the division that gets hot.
Last year, the Bears were a pathetic 5-11, but they turned it around and now lead their division. 5 weeks ago, the Bears game seemed like a win for the Dolphins, now it will be a struggle.
I’ve been really impressed with our defense this year, and I think they will cause fits for the overrated Mitchell Trubisky. But even when Miami stops him and we get the ball back, then what happens? The D has done its job all year. It’s the offense that has failed them. I don’t know of any miracle cures for this. Certainly when the same old people inside the same old system are failing, then you need to change something…anything. It doesn’t have to be a drastic change like a new QB. But something needs to be different. Anything!
But Adam Gase thinks that “change” is a dirty word, and as we all know, he is smarter than any anyone. Just ask him.
In other words, change is not coming. So we’ll have to wait and see what happens…

Part of blurb:The Dolphins picked up Parker’s fifth-year option before the season, which isn’t surprising GIVEN THEIR FINANCIAL INEPTITUDE, so the Cowboys would be acquiring Parker for a late-round pick in the hopes that he flourishes over the next year-plus. They could get out of Parker’s $9.4 million salary in 2019 without penalty if Parker doesn’t get hurt, which is the only reason they shouldn’t take a flier on a wideout who has the sort of athletic traits the current group can’t touch.
Barnwell is an idiot though. A 6th round pick for a former first round pick? If you can’t get a linemen or at least a 4th rounder you don’t do that trade.
Every time I see these trade scenarios, I think, “No way, Parker is worth more than just a 6th round draft pick.”
But then I realize we gave away Landry and Ajayi for low draft picks as well. No one offers us high-round draft choices because they know Dolphin Management is stupid enough to jump on the first offer.
Her trade value is a sleeve of Gatorade cups, period. Make ANY trade that includes a draft choice. She has no value to this team-keeping her just prevents this Back Office from signing an NFL record 5th QB to the roster.
I just keep thinking of Reshad Jones willingly playing with a torn shoulder muscle. His labrum is torn to shreds, but he throws a bandage on it and goes out to help his team. Compare that to the other guys with playable injuries like Sitton, Kilgore, Parker…
According to Gase,he has changed the culture if this team and he is OK with it. Makes you wonder what is actually he OK with?
I was sharing some of Tinsil’s pot a few weeks ago when I actually posted that we have a stretch of 7 of 8 winnable games. And by Dolphins winnable,I mean we lose by less than 10 points and if catch every break,a chance to win. He has great pot if I came up with that pipe dream.
The question we all want the answer to is were your smoking out of the mask?
Tunsil’s
We have a change Tanny is out with a shoulder injury. I hope that Ossweiler can pull out some Fitzmagic…
