Christmas continues to come all week long for Arrogant Adam.

Multiple articles seem to indicate that Ryan Tannehill is definitely gone.  Gase must be breathing such a sigh of relief. Seriously, he must go to bed at night thinking, “Thank God that Mr. Ross is blaming our QB instead of blaming me!”

Other articles state that the whole front office will be fired, but Gase will get a another year.

I don’t think Stephen Ross reads my blog, but he is a real estate developer, so I want to give him a real estate analogy.

We are building a high-rise office building.  It looks nice and parts of it function adequately.  But adequate isn’t enough.   Some of the floors have plumbing issues, cracked windows, and some torn carpets.   Other floors are just fine.     How do we correct things?   How do we get our building to be state of the art?

To start, who do you blame for the current disrepair?  We have an architect named Adam Gase.  He used to be a painter in another city, handling only one very specific part of a huge job.   But Mr. Ross gave him a promotion and let him run the entire show now.   He gets to make the day-t0-day decisions on the entire operation.   So when the operation has failed for three straight years, he has to take the blame.   But he’s a smart architect.  He can fool others.   He can make you think others are to blame instead of accepting the blame himself.

The architect blames his workers, including chief foreman Ryan Tannehill.  But foreman Tannehill can only do what he’s told by the architect.  When a broken water main is flooding the 19th floor, Gase sends Tannehill to the 30th floor to dust the curtains.   When a fire is burning down the 20th floor, Gase sends Tannehill to the kitchen to unjam the vending machine.

An architect who does not recognize the obvious solutions to problems cannot blame his staff.

But it gets worse.   This particular architect, and his pals in the media, also blame the guys who ordered the steel and copper.  These suppliers, the team of Grier and Tannenbaum, bought all the materials Gase needed, and the owner spent whatever Gase wanted him to spend, but still Gase built a faulty building.  Make no mistake, Architect Gase had enough raw materials to build this project.   But he used the drywall to make floors, and he used the steel to create make windows.  When he needed three inches of wood, he instead used a 50-foot pane of fragile glass.  When he tested materials and saw that they worked to perfection, he didn’t stick with it.   Instead of continuing what was working, he experimented with new materials used in different ways.   And he failed each time.   When he had reliable equipment, he shipped it off to Philadelphia or San Diego or other such cities.  In other words, for three years he continued to put the wrong pieces into incorrect parts.

And yet the media blames his foreman and his suppliers.

Sorry, but for the purposes of my analogy, the only other architect I can think of is Mike Brady.   Mr. Brady faced many situations where somebody screwed up his plans and designs, and he was left in a jam.  Usually the problem was caused by one of his 6 assistants (for example, when Assistant Jan stole his blueprints and left him a Yogi Bear poster instead).   But he overcame it with hard work and determination.   His boss Mr. Matthews never fired him because he succeeded.   But if he had failed…we’ll never know because Mike Brady was a good architect.  Adam Gase on the other hand has failed 8 times this year with a chance for #9 only a few days away…

And for anyone who still respects Armando Salguero’s opinion, he stated today that he himself would RETAIN Adam Gase.
That tells you all you need to know about how misguided the Miami media is.
They join on the bandwagon about cutting Tannenbaum and the former “Fireland” campaigns, etc, but they don’t get it.
Jeff Ireland never called a defensive timeout when the opponent was about to run out of clock.
Mike Tannenbaum never called for a long bomb every time he faced a third and inches over the course of 3 long, failing years.

    1. There’s no doubt Gase deserves to be fired I commented here the other day that if he was retained Miami would lose Drake just like Ajayi and Miami will be much worse record wise. Sure Miami has 7 wins this year but that’s due to 1) easy schedule (jets twice the bills twice the garbage AFC south, and the NFC north) 2) Turnovers which if you look at year to year stats are historically unsustainable and 3) Winning close games (the Miami miracle, the hands of Clay game, the bears overtime game where the ball bounced off Amendola right into stills hands). But the front office was trash to and assembled a team with more holes than Swiss cheese. No second corner, paying McDonald while he was in jail, not replacing Suh, signing a bunch of dudes in their 30s than acting surprised when they got hurt. It’s really been a disaster. If anything blame the front office for allowing Gase to use these lame excuses.

If Miami keeps Gase and doesn’t drastically upgrade the QB position and when I say drastically I mean like getting a top 5 QB Miami is almost guaranteed to be 4-12 or 5-11 next year based on everything I layed out in the first paragraph.

I will be severely depressed if we retain Gase. It’s looking so likely though.
What does Ross see in this joker? We’re all knowledgable fans here…can we name one positive that Gase brings to a game day?

        1. Unless we lose the the Jills by 4 TDs,Gase stays.

          1. Author

The players are not stupid. I expect them to tank and make that 4-TD loss a reality. They must want gase gone more than I do.
Jones has already quit on us twice this year. What’s one more please

            1. Author

When Gase calls one of his famous bubble screens on 3rd and 25, or when he calls a long bomb on 3rd and inches…do you think the players get irritated at Mike Tannenbaum?

              1. I think about 7-8 players care about Gase-his favorites. The other 45 could not care less. They don’t care about T’BUM but everyone else connected to the team does,us fans!

                1. Author

So if it’s true (God, please make it not so) that gase is staying, then we’ll probably get a new QB. Gase will ruin him immediately with awful play calls and brutal designs that never fool a defense. The players were not the problem under Gase. Gase was the problem.

                  1. Or maybe we will sign a veteran QB that is bright enough to audible, something Tranny has not mastered after 7 seasons.

                    1. You know, audible away from endless Gase screwups!

  2. Gase is fooling the ONLY person he needs to fool,Ross!
    And……….
TannenBUM has wrecked our franchise, just as he did the Jets. We have the worst front office in the NFL because of him.

    1. Author

      There wasn’t much to wreck!

  3. If only Tannebomb goes then we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ross is totally clueless. This means that he never asked Gase his thought process behind his many failed moves. Mr. Gase, when it was 3rd and inches in both the Colts and Bengals games, why did you chose a long pass play instead of run the ball in light of the fact that we were averaging 4 YPC? I mean the Patriots call a QB sneak and have done so for 10 years and they own the division and all of football for that same 10 years. Mr Gase, why is our defense still unable to figure out simple blocking patterns and have worsened in all 3 years under your command? Mr. Gase, why cant our offensive line pick up a blitz, ever? Mr. Gase, why do we always seem to be calling for a long pass when teams are going to blitz 3 or more? These are basic questions that should be asked by anyone that has even the slightest clue about football but Miami’s owner will not ask.

    1. I think a Gase contract extension is imminent, which would be par for the course for this current front office! LOL!

  4. Armando Salguera said to give Gase a raise. Not making it up

    1. Author

Yeah, I think Gase must pay Armando. Armando also said he would prevent the re-signing of Frank Gore. because signing an older player takes away from the development of younger players.
I might agree with that, except if the older player is an unstoppable stud who can get you a 1,000 yards.

  5. I think I’m ready for a complete overhaul. The guy from Minnesota for GM, Rex Ryan d coordinator, and an offensive minded HC like Mike Mcarthy.

    1. Author

I’d welcome either of those two guys. But it’s looking like we are stuck with Gase for the time being. To have all these established coaches out there, some of them with Super Bowl titles under their belts…so many good names are available, and yet Ross is in love with our current coach and his zero accomplishments anywhere…I simply can’t fathom it.

  6. I read yesterday, I think in Cotes article that he thinks Tannabum is gone and Marino will most likely be the next GM. So if that happens folks we are officially going to be DOOMED! I mean we have no coach that has any experience in their respective positions and we will have a GM that has no experience too?

    What a Joke.

Just when you think that Ross do anything dumber than he has done over the last decade we hear this is a possibility.

Marino needs to go back to CBS hes only making a fool of himself here and if he becomes the GM he will preside over what history will call the worst years f the Miami Dolphins.

How our once proud organization has fallen to this level of despair is totally unbelievable but to destroy whats left of one of our legends in Marino would be a script only our arch rivals could write!

    1. Author

A few days ago, I would have been intrigued with Marino as boss. He hated losing more than anyone I’ve ever seen, and he chewed people out when they failed. THAT is what we need.
HOWEVER…..now that I understand Marino is a fan of Gase and Marino wants to keep Gase (God knows why) , I question Danny’s logic and I am no longer enthusiastic about him coming in.

      1. This might only be posturing. If the owner is set to keep Gase 1 more year, it would be foolish for Marino to criticize Gase at this point. We dont know if Marino truly supports Gase or not.

        1. Author

But then we’re back to square one…having a GM who really doesn’t support the coach AND who lies and says he does.
GM and HC will get into a power struggle, and under Ross, the HC always wins those.

  7. He was already the boss under Husenga, then he quit 2 days later. I think it was the time his illegitimate kid surfaced

    1. Yes you could be right about that but man when in the hell do we get anyone with some real experience? I know that a SB coach or GM is no guarantee of success but man the way the last decade has gone it has to be better than this

      1. Author

It needs to be someone with head coaching experience, even if they didn’t win a Super Bowl. Once you are fired as a head coach, the first thing going through your mind is “I shoulda done things different. If only I get another chance based on what I already know.” Guys like Shula and Belichick had HC experience before making it big. Stephen Ross just hands out HC jobs like it’s on-the-job training. “Come get your feet wet while running my team. It’s okay if you’re a rookie. No problem.”

  8. First story at the Miami Herald this morning “Managment happy with Ryan Tannehill”

That statement alone should disqualify them all from further employment

    1. Author

Yes, well idiot Armando continues to blame Mike Tannenbaum with yet another article today about how he ruined the Dolphins.
I don’t give our front office a free pass, but they are not to blame for the 2018 failures. Adam Gase was overmatched and outsmarted in 4 of our losses this year. Mike Tannenbaum did not call for 3 straight sacks in the Colt game WHILE WE HELD THE LEAD and just needed to run out some clock.
Chris Grier did not call for a long bomb on 3rd and inches with a 17-point lead at Cincy. I could go on and on.
It’s that pg Adam Gase’s fault, but Armando sticks up for him. So let’s not dwell to much on the what the ignorant writers say. The herald guys have a right to their incorrect opinions.

      1. And its not just these game ending calls. This occurs on almost (80 % and up) every single drive. He consistently makes horrible calls throughout the game that causes Miami early punts and drives. And giving up on drives after a first down penalty is my most irritating peeve. He has zero concept of how to set up a defense and then attack it.

      2. 3 or 4 articles this week about how effective our running game is, and yet we ran the ball only 18% of the time (I’m not certain of the numbers, but you get the idea). I don’t know why ross wants to keep Gase and tannehill so much

    2. Author

I didn’t see the management happy article, Brian. post a link por favor !

  9. Miami Herald sports beat writer Adam H. Beasley says “One game left for Miami Dolphins fans, and then time to forget all about this season”

Okay.. we’ll all just act like DATA on the Star Trek series and erase this season from memory banks.

I know the Dolphins have one game left, but who cares. Let me go first – click… rebooting… operating systems back on deck and functioning.

Um, can anybody tell me what the Dolphins did in the 2018 season because I’m sure they’ll be much better in 2019?

  10. Author

Phil, we would have been Super Bowl champions if only Josh Sitton didn’t get hurt. Just ask Adam Gase. He will tell you how injuries–not his play calling–derailed our memorable season.

  11. Admin….. are you going to do playoff chat rooms this year? If so which games?

  12. “If getting the best person for that role means saying goodbye to Grier and Gase, so be it. Grier’s drafts haven’t been anything special. Gase hasn’t shown anything special, from awful offenses to questionable assistant hires.”

Admin I think Dave Hyde at the sun sentinel is a reader of the blog!

Finally someone with a megaphone with the same thought we have!

    https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-sp-hyde-alabama-oklahoma-dolphins-20181228-story.html#nt=oft03a-2la1

    1. “Does he hire New England’s assistant general manger, Nick Caserio, who he interviewed a few years ago, in another regime change?”

Hyde also asked this question to which I SCREAMED YES PLEASE

Give him Tannehills 20mil a year and will come here before the Super Bowl

  13. Jets are firing Todd Bowls… what do you think of him for DC???

    1. I’m not sure but he would be a definite upgrade and he has experience. I would love Rex Ryan as HC or DC

    2. I’d take Bowles easily an upgrade at DC. Ryan couldn’t coexist as a DC too loud. If Gase would hand over play calling I could live with him for another year but highly unlikely…

  14. Bowles already got screwed by Ross. He ain’t coming back
