We’ll take it.   The Oakland Raiders gifted us a nice win today, and I for one am proud to accept it.  Jon Gruden saw that we could not stop Jordy Nelson, and for some baffling but enjoyable reason, he stopped calling on Jordy.

A thousand thank yous to Gruden.

Thank you also for calling a long fade route when you had a first down and were about to take the lead very late in the game.  A ridiculous play call made worse by David Carr throwing a Cutler-like pass there deep.

In 2013, we opened up 3-0 as well.   We beat some quality teams too like Indy and Atlanta, and a crap team in the Browns.   We were 3-0 and looking real good.   But then came the Saints.  The Ravens.  The Pats.   Even the lowly Bills.   Joe Philbin had no answers.   Season was essentially over because we couldn’t build anything off of a 3-0 start.  4-0 is a gigantic amount better than 3-1.

The good news is even if we lose—even if the Pats beat us 75-0 next Sunday, we’ll STILL be in first place.   No Dolphin should think that way, but it’s true.

Heading into Monday, my main concern is the injured defense.  We took some major hits Sunday, and it doesn’t look good.  Offensive guard Jesse Davis had to play defense.  We had no one left.

A lot to cover this week as well.  I know you guys think I want to run the ball too much, but I only say that when the run game is working.   When it’s not working at all, then pass it.   Shuffle it.  Trick play it.  Anything.  It all worked.  Gotta keep up that stuff.  The Patriot defense isn’t much better than the D’s we’ve seen the past 3 weeks.   Let’s hope Gase sets out to outscore them, and not bet the bank on stopping Brady.

Win lose or draw against the Patriots, this will be an exciting week because we’re excited and not moping around.   This tough schedule we have doesn’t seem so hard now that we’re playing well.   But the players can’t think that way.   They need to stay ready.  And healthy

  1. So are we going to see another gate, head sets stop working, defensive batting the ball which I’ve never seen before or after it happened in NE, etc…??? That’s my biggest worry as really they were horrible and Brady looked old…

  2. Bet NE wishes they had Amendola back

  3. In 2013 Miami was 8-6 had just beat the Steelers and patriots in back to back games and only needed to beat the jets or bills to make the playoffs. Somehow they lost both those games in blowouts. Really hoping this season isn’t as disappointing.

    1. You never know but I get that feeling that they can be much better. Injuries will be a key as admin mentioned.

      1. I hear you FINSFAN27. But why do I sometimes get that nauseous feeling that at a lot of these NFL officials hate our team.

  4. I am really happy about 3-0. But reality check-we beat 3 crap teams! Remember that absurd 10 win season? When we beat crap teams including 2 gift wins by the awful Niners and Browns and at the end of the season,we were crushed a few weeks in a row by REAL good teams.
Detroit doesn’t look like a pushover now as before. We have the OilerTexans in Houston a month from now and that SHOULD be a win. We have the Bungles,Bears,Lions,OilerTexans and Jets in a row after NE.
NE will be a gauge for us but those next 5 games are SHOULD wins for us.

    1. “You say “we beat 3 crap teams.” Lets see. The Titans beat the undefeated Jags and are now 2-1. The Jets, after coming down on that high from their first game, are a threat to any team once they get their act together and their rookie quarterback realizes that he’s no instant “Broadway Joe.” And the Raiders whom I feel with a few tweaks here and there, has the potency and potential to beat any team in the NFL. You, KARMATOURER, said the Lions “couldn’t win with 12 players.” Good thing Lions fans don’t know who you are KARMATOURER because the Dolphins Truth internet site will have to shut down today from all the heckling mail you’ll be getting from them. Good going Lions… Dolfans owe you a few pat and back.

      1. Any given Sunday but most of us didn’t think the patsies would be that bad. Brady looks tired and the talent is horrible on NE. I’m sure that they’ll be better when edelman is back plus a few others on D but not much better….Sunday should be interesting.

  5. 2 batted balls by CBs. How can that happen when Tranny is at least 6 inches taller? Does he not see them?

  6. William hayes is our for the season. That’s a huge blow. Time to cut a QB and bring in another defensive linemen.

Yes, you beat me to that. We were pretty deep at D ends, but he was playing well and will be missed. Injuries happen all the time, so next man up has to prevail. When he went down, all of us in the chat room were thinking he was just celebrating his sack. I guess the poor guy knew his leg was a goner.

      1. Apparently he tore it because he was trying to avoid putting all his weight on the QB. Stupid new rules cost the packers 2 games and us a starting defensive tackle/end who is our best run stopper by far.

        1. The rules gone a little too far I’m all for saving QB’s as that makes the league go round but they’re asking players to stop in mid air! If they don’t want tackles put flags on the QB’s already you may as well at this point…
