It’s bad enough that the NFL is afraid of concussions and won’t let grown men play ball willingly if they have a headache.   Now they won’t let grown men play in the rain.

Even though there is no solid evidence that the hurricane will be hitting Hard Rock Stadium Sunday afternoon, the league is already considering plans to make us move the game.

It could be played later, or earlier, or in another state, or even during our bye week, which would then make Week One our new bye week.   And I thought only baseball players were afraid of the wind and rain!  Moving or postponing this game is an awful decision, and I hope the league lets the game go forth as usual

Seriously, if we knew for CERTAIN when the hurricane will hit, and precisely where as well, then for safety purposes I’m all for the move.  But to fear something that probab;y won’t impact us? That’s just stupid, and it would force 70,000+ fans to change their plans. Because of something that requires guess work.

  1. Dude, people could die in a hurricane. Is a ball game worth it?

    1. Where did Admin say that it shouldn’t be such a big deal if Dolphins game was played in a hurricane?

  2. also an extinction level asteroid may strike nearby or a north korean nuke could hit the stadium.

  3. I’ve lurked for a while out of a desire for perspective regarding Dolphins football, but this takes the cake in shallow commentary. The tone of DolphinsTruth is predominately negative (often justifiably so), but it is now beyond a doubt the sole purpose of this site is to simply moan, groan, and complain about anything and everything Dolphins. Granted, the Dolphins are a target rich environment for such and one can appreciate the effort needed to host this site, but being a Dolphins fan is tough enough without subjecting oneself to such adolescent nonsense. Adios.

Always looking for new readers and new perspectives, and so I’m sorry you decided to leave us so soon. I don’t like this waiting game, and that’s the point of all this. 16 other home teams this weekend are settled in and know their schedule. Only the Dolphins get left out to dry. (Hopefully we stay dry, pun intended.)

  4. Yea this is taking it way to far. Irma is going to be a disaster for parts of the east coast, to even complain about the game getting cancelled shows a lack of perspective. Who cares about a game when people could die or lose everything.

The NFL simply needs to make a decision and not leave everyone hanging. I’m no weather man, but I guarantee you that on Sunday, we’re going to feel at least some effects of the hurricane. For that reason, moving the game is a safe decision to make. My main gripe is that the league has us in a holding pattern and won’t announce anything. We already gave away a home game this season, and I don’t want it to be a second.

So the word is now that the game DEFINITELY will not be held Sunday in Miami.
Thank you to the NFL for still leaving us hanging. Will it be played elsewhere Sunday? Will it be played in the future in Miami. No decisions yet.

    1. I heard some talk about the game being played in Atlanta.

I prefer Atlanta on Sunday over Miami on our bye week. We’ll see,
