The loss of Danell Ellerbe certainly stings, but it’s very good to know that the backup linebackers came through so well.  As we noted last Sunday,  we never thought that Jason Trusnik was a superstar, and maybe he still is not.   But he played his heart out on Sunday, and he certainly won our praise.

Miami Dolphin linebacker Dannell Ellerbe
Dannell Ellerbe is gone for the year. Who will step up?

Chris McCain proved he belongs, and we hope Wheeler and Misi can come back soon to complement him.

The Patriots players and coaches were pretty respectful to the Dolphins in all their comments.  They admitted that the better team won.   I spent a lot of time looking for bulletin board material for some Patriot clown saying something like, “The Dolphins got lucky.  We are better.”  But none of that.  I know it’s sometimes fun to hate Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, but they’ve always been very professional when they speak of the Dolphins.

There was some talk of the NFL reversing its ban and punishments on some positive drug tests, which means that it’s possible for Reshad Jones and Dion Jordan to come back sooner than the 4 weeks they were originally suspended,  If this happens, who does Kevin Coyle cut?   Just because Jordan is available, I hope the Phins don’t bench someone else to make room for him,   The current guys on D played incredible, and we shouldn’t tamper with success.
