For many years, I have described the Dolphins’ bullying fiasco as “two best friends teasing each other” and I’ve taken a lot of grief for it.

A lot of folks wrote to me and commented on our boards about how bullying is a real thing and a national epidemic.  I’m sure it is; however, that’s not what happened to Jonathan Martin.  No, Martin and Richie Ingnotio were immature men who often used vile language when speaking and texting to one another.  BOTH men used the same language.  BOTH.

It continues to play out today, as authorities have declared that Martin will stand trial for threatening Richie and some high school classmates.  That is a felony.

One man committed a felony.  The other man teased his buddy.  Guess which man Stephen Ross sided with?

  1. This kinda shit only happens to the Dolphins. They deserve what the got.
What do you say to an NFL player in a 3 piece suit? “Will the defendant please rise…”

Smart teams wait until AFTER the investigation to act. The Dolphins, on the other hand, took Martin’s side of the story immediately. Cut Richie first, ask questions later.

I lose count of all the players that Miami shipped out of town because of hurt feelings. Richie, Jarvis, Jordan Phillips, Pouncey, Ajayi…and those are just the ALL-PROS and key starters!!

  2. Lol. At least Martin didn’t become a felon until after he left team, unlike Kareem Hunt and Ray Rice !

  3. I thought I posted this here already but I guess it was deleted but both Martin and Incognito were in mental institutions this year. Both for acting insane and endangering others, this was not two friends teasing each other. This was to psychopaths that happened to work right next to each other. One pysco can be manageable but put two right next to each other and this is what happens.

Both were insane. But only one was an All Pro.
Only was was immediately released from his team.

      1. Yea but Miami got rid of both within 2 years the only mistake they made was hanging on to Martin for to long but in their defense this was the first time Martin did anything crazy. Incognito had practically been kicked off every single team he played for before coming to Miami. Like there wasn’t one situation the man was in including college where he ever got along with teammates and coaches or learned how to act like a grown man. Miami was right to cut him immediately. It’s sad because we all forget but Miami could of actually been pretty good in 2013 and 2014 if this didn’t happen.

It must be killing Ross to not be able to officially announce his new coach yet. I’m sure he has the Rooney/Diversity speech all ready to go once New England loses.

  5. Im interested in knowing y’all thoughts on Kyler Murray going to Miami with #13 pick. So far 3 mock drafts have him going there.

Murray seems like a great athlete, but not an elite QB. The arm is there, no doubt. But he’s 5 ft 9, and you have to consider that.
Similar to Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, except Lamar is a half-foot taller.

      1. Until the oline is bolstered no QB will be any good. I’d prefer that they fix both lines first unless a no brainer comes across their path. If anything sit him next year but a DE or DT should be taken in first round over QB next year…
