Samson Satele.
That’s right. After watching the game live and then studying it on tv, we are proud to give the Game Ball to center Samson Satele.
While Knowshon Moreno (or Cameron Wake) are more popular picks, it was Satele who opened up many of those holes for Moreno. Satele made Vince Wolfork a non-factor the whole game. Satele took command of the o-line and all day long, you could see him pointing out assignments.
There weren’t a lot of pitchouts and sweeps; the majority of our rushing success was right up the gut.
The rest of the line played well too. But Ja’Wuan James was flagged. Brandon Albert got toasted on one big sack (but it was called back because the defender who beat him nailed Tannehill into the ground). The guards and center played the best of the 5 linemen.
What makes Game Ball all the more special is that Satele was an emergency signing who came to camp late and had to learn quickly and excel quickly. He did both. It was a thing of beauty to watch this guy play his guts out today. Makes ya wonder why we ever traded him in the first place.
