Don Jones and Marcus Thigpen are now members of the New England Patriots.  Or at least their practice squad.

How much about the Dolphins can Thigpen and Jones reveal to their new boss, Coach Bill Belichick?  Probably not too much.  Thigpen and Jones will not be standing right beside Belichick this Sunday and revealing formations to him.   They might be able to help the Pats analyze our game plan, but those things are overrated.   The players have to execute, even if they know what’s coming.

So this news isn’t devastating.  It would be a lot worse if Thigpen were signed to the Pats active roster.  But we can live with him on their practice squad.

We’re still waiting for Joe Philbin to explain what Thigpen did wrong to get cut.   Bill Belichick is a Super Bowl champion several times over, and he recognizes Thigpen as a man he wants on his team.  Joe Philbin has never won anything and has little credibility when it comes to personnel, and he doesn’t think Thigpen is good enough.   Who do youhave more faith in, Belichick or Philbin?

I still wish the Dolphins would have claimed Dimitri Patterson; we make ourselves stronger at the same time weakening the Jets.
