As bad as the Dolphins looked, especially Jacoby Brissett, one good thing is that Brian Flores didn’t seem to make any game-changing mistakes.

The team was woefully unprepared, the offensive coordinators still call garbage plays and got us ZERO points in the second half, and their usage of certain personnel in certain situations is just plain wrong…BUT, at least Brian Flores punted when he was supposed to punt, called for a FG when that was the right decision, and did not blow time outs to help the opponent.

Ideally, we should have won this game by 40 points, but we’ll take it!

I don’t know who Yahoo writer “Brandt is, but he thinks Flores is the coach of the Bills and he thinks Flores will be coach of the year this year. Wrong and very wrong.

  1. Well we might split a win with the Jets but I don’t think we’re gonna win anymore than three games. Another dismal season…

  2. I don’t even want to watch Thursday night’s game but I will. Don’t think it matters who is playing at QB there is no difference. Though the Bills losing to Jags is one of those where the team sat back and didn’t get charged up to play the Jags but Jags were!
It happens to all of them. I’m not looking forward to any games, it’s pretty sad for a long time fan to be done!

    1. Yeah, I hate Thursday games to begin with, and during a bad season, it makes the games seem even less meaningful. Even though we’ll probably lose, I keep my eyes open for improvement, and I Look for positives. Unfortunately, I see very very little improvement. I’m tired of hearing stats about how great Jevon Holland is. He has one INT because Tyrod threw up an airball trying to avoid a sack. Otherwise, is he really better than Bobby McCain? Tired of hearing how Flores’s team plagued by injuries. Even when healthy, Flores still makes bad choices, although last Sunday was better.
REALLY tired of these two asshole coordinators calling 5-WR sets and getting our QBs mangled. Never learning, and never adjusting. I don’t mind losing to the Ravens as long as we see some variety and an attempt to adjust what doesn’t work.

So this is what we’ve sunk to. We, Dolphin fans, are stuck in some sort of twilight zone test of resilience. I’ve finally figured this out. Guys stock up on spare food and water and stay the course, this has to end soon. In the words of a great immortal, ” We need to look at the film and get better…”

Yes, it is indeed sad when we celebrate a correct punting decision. But just to show you what I mean…
When we played the Bills in Week 2, we were only down 7 points, at home, in the first quarter, with a healthy Tua.
We were 1-0. Buffalo was 0-1.
Then on 4th and 2 from OUR OWN 45 yard-line (first quarter remember), Brian Flores decided to go for it. The rest is history.
I can’t help but wonder what happens if Flores punts there when he should have.
Maybe we lose anyway. But we would not have lost 35-0.
I think the players could have rebounded from a hard-fought loss to the Bills, but we could not recover from a 35-0 drubbing, nor can we recover from Brian Flores’s other frequent mistakes.

  4. So-why is it these dumb scouts on this team cannot, I repeat, cannot pick this guy Freirmuth from Penn State now on Steelers?? 6″5′ 258 lbs–the guys is a stud and well spoken! What are these scouts looking at? I’m saying pick smart picks! Dolphin scouts are for crap. If they can’t see a stud when they see one, let me pick’em.

    1. It is much worse than just missing on talent, it an overall lack of intelligable philosophy. They got the guys they wanted and felt that the defense was good and going to get better. So they targeted WR, TE, O-line, and D-backs (and their choices were mostly bad). They didnt realize that the defense was all an illusion, clouded by unsustainable turnovers. Their lack of ability to stop the run and absolute failure to stop anything on 3rd down didnt jar something in our front office to realize that the defense actually sucks. Bottom line is that there is no reason to trust anything from this front office. Any plan they contrive is guarenteed to be malconceived. If our main weakness is LB, they’ll go sign a FS. If another weakness is guard, they’ll go draft a TE. But you know all of this, we all have been bitching about this for some 10 years, if not longer.

I think it was Flores’s ego, I really do. He must have told Grier not to worry about defense too much, “I got it covered. I don’t need Bobby McCain. I don’t need Kyle Van Noy. I don’t need Shaq Lawson. I don’t need Kamu Grugier-Hill or Micah Parsons. I am Brian Flores, and my system is better than the players.”

  5. I agree with this. Ego and over-confidence. Last year, he cobbled together a decently successful defense with no-names, so thought he could do it again this year.

  6. Well LOL, Looks like Flores and staff finally figured it out. Great defensive performance tonight! 30th ranked defense holds LJ Ravens to a career low in points.

  7. How about Robert Hunt with the greatest touchdown in Dolphins history that didn’t count!

  8. I have to say that this win was never on my radar! Kudos to the D! This should be happening every game and maybe they have blasted through a mental block–much of sports and winning is mental and getting a win like this against the Ravens and their QB running like he was on fire, does a defense a lot of good confidence building! This win comes at an optimum time against our next opponent, the NY Jets! There is no other team a Dolphin fan can loathe other than the Jets! That’s the King of Wins for me! Happy with a win I didn’t expect! Jets need a piece of this defense.
