Several months ago, we at Dolphins Truth began studying the Dolphins’ upcoming schedule, and
we circled the September 14 game at Buffalo. We even wrote an article about it, calling this the most telling game of the year.
The result of this Bills game will tell the Dolphins and the fans all they need to know about the 2014 Dolphins.
If we lose to the Bills, then that means the Week One Patriot win was a fluke and we are destined for an 8-8 season at best.
If we barely squeak by the Bills, then we are in for a 9-7 season at best, and we don’t make the playoffs.
But if we bury the Bills, put them away early, and keep piling it on, then we know we have a winner in our 2014 Dolphins.
It’s pretty simple, actually. Depsite the hype about how strong the Bills defense is and blah blah blah, they aren’t a good team. They are among the NFL’s worst, actually. They were just as bad last year too, and they still managed to beat us twice. Thanks to Joe Philbin having no defense and no adjustments for the mighty hall-of-fame QB Thad Lewis, we got beat twice. Including a shutout. Digusting and inexcusable.
In Joe Philbin’s career, he is 1-3 against the lowly Bills. And the time to get that corrected begins Sunday.
We held the potent New England offense to only 20 points, so we should be able to hold the Bills to 10 or less. They just aren’t good. Period. The only potential problem is that the Bills run and pound the ball a lot more than New England did. Brady was actually doing
us a favor by passing every single down in the 2nd half; we didn’t have to worry about the run whatsoever. The Bills don’t play that way. They can’t. We will have to be more ready for the run, which means our 2nd and third-string linebackers will have to excel again,
just like they did last week.
As for the Bills’ vaunted defensive line: they are good. They have Pro Bowlers. They have experience. But that’s all they have. Their DBs and LBs don’t scare anyone. They have no killer instinct. Take the lead early, and I see them folding.
I have faith in Bill Lazor to devise a scheme to minimize that d-line. To tire them out. Pitchouts, short screen passes, draw plays and similar plays will be extremely effective against a team like Buffalo. The Bills have no one in the secondry of note, so if we concentrate on blocking their decent d-line, we’ll be fine.
Last week, the Bears (with one of the worst offenses in the league) scored 20 points against the Bills. So we should be able to put up at least 30. That has to be Bill Lazor’s goal.
And again, as we initilly pointed out, simply winning this game is not good enough for the Dolphins. Strong teams cannot just squeak by weaker teams. They have to make a statement, especially on the road.
The Bills will be fired up in their throwback uniforms. They will be honoring their fallen team owner, Ralph Wilson. They will be showing off for their new owner. And they will be
letting down all their fans as the Dolphins win 29-10.

Ahah! Im sensing some welcome optimism here and it becomes your style D-Truth! And for all the worries and warnings across the media experts including Phins writers, I would like to sum it all up by re posting the quote from your article.
“It’s pretty simple, actually. Depsite the hype about how strong the Bills defense is and blah blah blah, they aren’t a good team. They are among the NFL’s worst, actually.”
And thankyou very much!
NOW allow me to echo just how important this game is as D-Truth has stated. Beating Buffalo will prove many things including our teams ability to adapt to talent accolades of our opponents. The percentage of talent is greatly in our favor and with this kind of disparity one can mathematically predict a win with almost certainty. However if we struggle or lose. It will erase all the momentum and the coaching at this point will be suspect. Yes this game should be rightfully an easy win with a lopsided score. For me the picture looks much like 3rd and goal on the 1 yard line. If we cant punch this victory in the endzone. Then the fear and cynicism of previous years will take over my outlook going forward. Sure win victories slipping out of reach in the 4th quarter with disappointment lurking just behind every positive drive. And I had a brief relapse in the NE game with the almost 3 consecutive turnovers. For this fan a victory will all but cure my hesitance to stay the course for the entire game without knee jerk reaching for the remote to change the channel half way through the 3rd quarter because I just cant take it any more. Anybody else here know what I mean.?
With planted feet, steady chin, and fists clenched, lets march down to Buffalo and take what belongs to us. Buffalo had their go in the 90’s along with last years embarrassment of the Dolphins. Its time to take back our respect in the division and the NFL period! Handing a decisive loss to Buffalo will accomplish both and finally establish us as a true contender and not a pretender.
