For some reason, I feel a bit more confident going into tonight’s game with a 4th string QB than I did last with with QB2 Skyloser Thompson.
Tyler Huntley wasn’t even on the team two weeks ago, and yet here he is–unknown to virtually all of us–taking the helm for the game vs. the Titans. And even though he knows our offense as well as you and me, he’s still a better option than Thompson. I recently learned he’s a former Pro Bowler too !
Personally, I believe Tim Boyle should have gotten the start, only because he must know the play calls better since he’s been been the team since camp. But, strangely, I have confidence in Huntley.
Granted, it’s a nervous confidence, but still, we have a chance. No matter what Huntley does, our defense can win us this game. The Titans’ offense is nowhere near what Seattle or Buffalo have, so we should be stopping them more often and getting the ball back. This could work out.
It’s been forever since the Dolphins had a QB who could move and run, so that could be exciting. Then again, we have ZERO plays in our playbook for a running QB. It’s the type of play McDaniel has never had to call. Let’s see what happens when he has a mobile QB for once.
This is a winnable game and it’s a game that’s for redemption. I too have confidence with Huntley. For those that don’t know, Huntley’s nickname is “Snoop.” Snoop is also a South Florida native and will likely have many friends and family at the game. All the other AFC teams lost yesterday, so, a win would be a great help. Hopefully, McD has regrouped from the last two fiascos and has a decent game plan in store for tonight. Fins Up!!!
I have zero inside information, but just to speculate: I think Tua is fine and cleared to play. Phins are being overly cautious and IR’ed him, even though he probably coulda been back after one week, and not needing 4. I also think he will not retire. Within a week or so, he’ll announce that he’s ready to come back. So let’s see if we can salvage a season here and have Tua come back with the Dolphins at 4-4 or so. Huntley doesn’t have to be a superstar, but rather just guide us to a couple of winnable games against upcoming Titans, Patriots, Colts, Cardinals.
Well the big question is how many snaps Tua will play before he’s back in concussion protocol again! Also it looks like our offensive problems are bigger than QB at the moment, I’m looking straight at McDanniels! Also I have huge doubts that we will be 4-4 when Tua comes back! I think someone in the organization should start looking beyond this season at upcoming qbs of course
Yeah, turns out I was overly optimistic. But one tiny gleam of hope is that we were truly 4 or 5 plays away from at least being in the game. hill drops a routine lateral AND THEN doesn’t even try to recover it. Disgusting lack of effort. Waddle drops a routine crossing pattern for a first down when we trailed by only 6. Huntley mis-timing on 3 separate passes when Hill was wide open. Can’t blame McD or the offense in general on those plays when one single player was at fault.
The dropped passes, many yellow flags on offense, and even injuries, are symptoms of poor discipline which are the result of coaching and head coach personality.
The McDaniel supportive love, good-cop personality has it’s limits. Mommy McDaniel may have lost the locker room.
This year’s quality and success is what I was expecting in his first year of coaching.
Perhaps McDaniel had a longer Honeymoon than usual. Looking back, his Honeymoon ended in early December 2023.
I am afraid to say it, but it is Time to start over. Dump GM and coach, trade Tyreek and Waddle for draft picks.
I am getting too old for this 🐬
Funny reality: as bad as our offense has performed so far this year, if the Aaron Jet show beats the Bills tonight, the Dolphins are only a half game out of first!
Great to see the running game working in our last game. It’s amazing how different we are with a healthy Mostert. Wright looks very promising. Achane is too small for regular RB duty. The Mostert/Wright attack might be very successful…..IMO, that is are only option going forward – running game foremost with passing game as supplement. But I am not it confident McDaniel would stick with that.
Hello Admin???? You out there????? Hope all is well with you! I have missed your insightful commentary since the Monday night debacle! After the loss I declared I was done with the NFL and the idiotic dolphins. Then I said I was becoming a Bucs fan. I mean the bucs have won the Super Bowl like 8 times since the Dolphins were relevant and hell now they have an exciting team. But I kept coming back here looking to see if you would talk me off the ledge only to start thinking maybe you jumped before me???? Hope not!
