Ravens defensive lineman Haloti Ngata has been suspended by the NFL for using performance enhancing drugs.

This is excellent, timely news for the Dolphins, and Bill Lazor needs to keep this in mind.   I’m sure Ngata’s backup is a fine player, but he can’t be the beast that Ngata is.

  1. This should definitely tip the point of attack back in our favor. One of the best nose tackles in the league is going to be out and that frees up all kind of things the Dolphins should be able to do from an offensive standpoint. We should be able to establish the run Sunday. I personally thought that we would win anyway.

  2. I agree – great news! Heck, I wish they would have waited to suspend him a couple days, just so the Ravens wouldn’t have any practice time to adjust.

  3. Huge bonus now they can focus on the outside pass rush. Should also give Tanny more time to pick apart that secondary…Go Fins!

  4. I will be at this game . Any Dolphin truth readers wanna meet up. Post it here. Ill try to take more on scene coverage and post up here. This game looks to be a sellout. Im excited to see my second game this year. Go Phins

  5. Finnegan just declared doubtful for the game. Big loss at CB. We are not playing Geno Smith this week so I am officially more worried about our D vs. Ravens O matchup than our O vs. Ravens D matchup (considering Ngata is out and how poorly our D has played the last couple of weeks. If you told me this 4 weeks ago I would not have believed it. We actually will need our offense to carry us on Sunday at put up at least 27 points to have a shot at winning. This means special teams or turnovers will have to me on the plus side. Fingers crossed.

  6. @MoonBear uncross your fingers and clench your fist! We will show up this Sunday and WIN!

  7. A combination of injuries and horrible calls killed this team today. They need one more good draft need ILB, Oline especially
G and some secondary. Hopefully some of the injured guys can make it back healthy and I think they will be better next year.

  8. Lazor better realize that he’s not playing Madden or some other video game.

  9. 12 carries for Miller, 3 in the second half??

How many times do you have to see Dumervil destroy Dallas Thomas before you keep a RB or TE in to help? I guess the number is more than 3.5

Joe Philbin and Lazor have much less offensive acumen than they get credit for. Neither have ever called plays at the NFL before.

Marvin Lewis is the defensive coach in Cincy- not Coyle.

Seriously, if there is a silver lining, it’s the hope that Ross will wake up and clean house. There is way too much talent to play this poorly.

I could run off tackle to the right side at Philip Wheeler and gain 20 yards. How pathetic is when teams gash us over and over on the same play??

It seems like our game plan each week is to see how many short passes we can throw to Jarvis Landry each week (whom I like very much by the way).

Hickey sucks too. We are desperate on the O-line, but Billy Turner can’t get on the field (3rd round). Walt Aiken can’t beat some dude off the street at CB (4th round). We are desperate at LB and Jordy Tripp can’t crack the rotation.

It is really starting to become “un” worthwhile to cheer for the Dolphins, or at least going to a sports bar every time they aren’t on TV and spending $40 to watch the game. I know it sounds petty, but if I had a friend/relative that caused me this much grief, I would have cut them off long ago.

    Thanks for letting me vent,
    BIG J

    1. I agree – the coaching/play calling is a huge problem. We’ve all commented on that previously on this blog; even in games that we’ve won.

I hope they can get it together enough to at least beat the Pats & Jets; let alone the Vikings.

Playcalling definitely hurt. 1st down and 5 deep in Raven territory and we end up with a field goal?? What was Lazor calling? We needed 7 on that first drive.
But as my new blog points out, Philbin’s conservatove strategy doomed us.

And Chris McCain picked a bad time to get hurt.

  10. Being a Miami Dolphin fan is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde one week your good with a win next week your bad with a lost and I’m tired watching them lose games they should have won but find a way to lose dang it man!!! Miami Dolphins still hanging around though thanks to some other teams losing today but they will have to win out their remaining games if they want to get in the playoffs. PLAYOFFS!? PLAYOFFS!?
