I know this is a re-run, but I am still so happy that Gase is gone that I just had to do it…

Mr. Ross, I owe you an apology.  You DID make the right call after all. You DID give us the best present we could ask for.

Arrogant Adam Gase is gone.

Yes, the dust hasn’t settled yet, and our new coach might be worse, but I doubt it.   Even so, let’s revel in the holiday joy for a while and take it all in.  No more Gase.

  • We might run a QB sneak now.
  • We might utilize a position called Tight End, something unknown to Gase.
  • We might keep our good players.
  • We might have a coach who hires professionals and not his friends. Or relatives.*
  • We might run a QB sneak.
  • A coach who might accept blame.
  • A coach who is engaged on game days, instead of sitting down on the bench by himself.
  • A coach who won’t call for 75-yard bombs when we need a handoff to ice a win.
  • A coach who will stick to successful plays.
  • A coach who will abandon unsuccessful plays.
  • Did I mention a QB sneak?

Reports indicate that Adam was Arrogant right up until the bitter end.   Ross wanted to keep him but make him give up roster/personnel moves.  Gase said no!  The man who got rid of Ajayi and Landry refused to alter his role a little, and chose to hit the road.   Indeed, right up until the end, Gase still feels he’ll easily find a new job coaching elsewhere.

Good riddance, you arrogant piece of shit.

The next step is for the Dolphins to interview a black candidate just to appease the ridiculous, racist Rooney rule.   After that, the list of candidates is big.   We heard about Rex yesterday.   The Harbaugh brothers have some complications, so I don’t wanna pursue those (Jim doesn’t wanna come here and John is under contract). Recently fired Marv Lewis and Todd Bowles.   A few other sub-par guys from the Cards and Buccaneers who got canned yesterday.   Mike McCarthy and a Jim Caldwell as well.

Ross promoted Chris Grier to an executive position with hiring power for a head coach.  The tax situation and weather make Miami an attractive port for these coaches.     So Ross and Grier need to ensure the next coach wants to win, and not just want to take a cushy job in Miami.   It’s a caveat, but they need to hire the man who wants to win, and doesn’t want to use his position to prove how smart he is.

*ESPN had an article to rank all the coaching candidates.   Believe it or not Zac Taylor made the list!!   Seriously, I cannot make it up.   You guys remember Zac, he is Mike Sherman’s son-in-law who Ross allowed Philbin to allow Sherman to hire to coach our QBs!!   http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25626408/nfl-coaching-candidates-hire-2019-espn-panelists-make-their-picks

  1. And Mr. Ross,YOU could be a reason no quality coach wants to come hither. I’m all in for Richard. He smiles. I don’t remember Gase ever smiling. Possibly a smirk but never a smile. Smiling is near the top of HC qualifications for me. Along with being able to laugh at yourself, something Gase would never do because it would acknowledge a mistake. I pray the Jets hire him!

I’ve warmed up to the notion of hiring a coordinator. Richard is just the cornerbacks coach, though. Like Philbin, he’s never called a play nor made a game-day decision. it’s a big step up from coaching one position to running the whole show.
I’m leery on this guy, but he’s better than Gase without even knowing him.

      1. After losing Super Bowl XLIX, the Seahawks promoted Richard to defensive coordinator to replace Dan Quinn, who had left to become the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons. He was good and the idiot Carroll fired him and Dallas was happy to get him.

        1. I was gonna say the same thing karma. Richard also played in the NFL unlike Gase you never even played pewee. Literally I played football at a higher level than Gase

  2. I just read we might be leaning towards the Pats linebackers coach. Don’t know if I want a position coach!

  3. I hate Sa(t)ban more than Bellychump.

  4. One more bullet point to add to your (above) list :

*️⃣ We might actually now be able cover the other teams TE – something I have not seen from the fins in many, many years !

  5. I’ll tell you what! I hope we suck bad enough in a couple years to get this kid Lawrence from Clemson! True freshman! Damn!

    1. Maybe he’ll come out in 2 years when we have the top pick.

  6. OK-I’m going to say it again and again, Ross is our BIGGESTTTTTTTTTT problem with getting a quality coach!!! Simple, to the point and darn true! Until this guy croaks, (harsh but again true) we are stuck with moron ownership!!! It’s painful! I’ve been a Dolphins fan since 10 years old, my dad dragging me to the Orange Bowl Stadium, the Grand Dame herself-where my Fin friends, Dolphins stadium SHOULD BE, because the karma stinks out of Miami for this team!!! I loved every game I went to, watching the best Dolphins team and the teams they played! Shula, a football coach through and through, watching him walk up and down those sidelines you knew he was in charge and in control!!! It will be years before this owner can bring that sort of magic back to the Dolphins! Anyone’s thoughts are welcomed.

    1. Your points are true but we have to look at it with hope and then be critical when it is called for. You have to admit that the Gase firing was a step in the right direction. Hopefully placing Grier in charge is the right move but that is hard to ascertain without knowing what Ross’ thought process was in making that decision. I would hope that he made this move because he documented possible moves or draft decisions that they did not make but Grier was in favor of and the passage of time proved to be the correct move. We dont want Ross making gut-based decisions however. Now Grier will have a major say in who they hire for head coach so this is not all on Ross if he fails. This is why I would have liked to have seen a hire that has proven the capability to bring in quality people in the past rather then someone new at his job.

  7. At least we are Gase-less! Another stupid hire!
