Personally. I’m starting with Jaylen Waddle, who dropped a pass right in his hands in the second quarter with no one near him, then made it worse by deflecting it to the Vikings for an interception that was not Teddy Bridgewater’s fault.
Unfortunately, Waddle wasn’t finished. His dropped fumble killed a promising drive when we were moving in to take the lead. He killed us twice in one game, and the D could not recover.
Mike McDaniel continues to be a superb playcaller. Getting guys open for a 2nd or 3rd and 4th string QB isn’t easy to scheme up, but he did it. But he’s also to blame for some other horrible decisions. He designs great plays, but he’s not a seasoned NFL general that we need right now.
First and foremost is that fake punt from our own 33. Why why why why why?
If you’re gonna do it, why have a backup linebacker who never contributed a thing to this team carry the ball for you?
Why does McD continue to put Jevon Holland back on punts? He never ever makes the right decision. He fair catches balls that would otherwise go into the endzone, or else he lets them go over his head when he should fair catch it.
Or else he muffs the ball, like today.
At the start of the second half, we began every drive within our 15 yardline, as our defense was playing great, but our O linemen refused to help. McD finally adjusted his schemes to get better blocking. But for a stretch there, Teddy had to hurry every single throw.
Skylar Thompson looked promising. But our offensive little leaguers got our starting QB blown up and out of the game for the THIRD WEEK IN A ROW. I know there is no magic wand to hire a free agent and immediately make the line better. But come on, SOMEONE has to improve, don’t they?
If you don’t think line play is vital, just look at what Patriot rookie 4th stringer Bailey Zappe is doing. No Hill. No Waddle. No Gesicki. But he has guys playing their ass off in front of him to block. You give a QB time, even some unknown bum, and they will burn you.

Reports are in that Nik Needham tore his Achilles and is out for the year. Poor guy. Poor Dolphins.
I was hoping for a sprained ankle only. š
So here we are at 3-3. The season isnāt over but guys itās starting to get ugly. Weāre without our starting QB for three games now. When will he be back? How long will he last behind this line? How do we dominate the first half of this game in such a way that the stats say we should have been up by 37 at the half but in reality we only scored 3 points? How do we have a HC who does a fake punt at what, our own 33 yard line? Or a HC who goes for a 2 point conversion when it makes no sense? Or a HC who don’t change the protection until late in the 3rd quarter while standing there watching your backup QB get knocked around all day? Donāt forget that if the Dolphins get on a little streak the NFL may invent a few more rules and penalties to take games from the Dolphins. Iām pissed and Iām really about fed up with it all. If itās not that damm owner screwing us itās the league itself and some years itās both! On top of that we get to watch Tannehill ball every week. A guy we gave up on who could play behind a busted line and get back up now we have a QB who looks like his time in the NFL might be just slightly longer than Yatil Green! Do I blame Waddle? Kids got to step up but thereās enough blame to go round. How to we go 100 yards on a drive, get 5 penalties in a row and end up with no points? You never saw that before and you never will! Only the dolphins can do crap like that! Our kicker canāt hit from anywhere near 50 yards! Our coach is good but out coaches week after week without his starting qb! Tua is good enough to cover some of his mistakes but when will the NFL give us our starter back? On top of that this is the second or third game this year the dolphins hang around till the fourth quarter Han get blown up. I mean give up. Not a good look and this dosnt leave a good feeling in my soul. Oh ya this all happened at home guys. Totally sucks and I blame everyone not named Gilseki or Hill.
Well good news is that Tua should start next week and both OT’s should be back as well. Maybe Jones and Kader will be back which will help and Noah did play ok once settled in. It all starts with the oline so we need to hope that they get some bodies back and soon or Tua will be killed as well again and again and again.
Players’ mistakes have cost us 3 games. Not planning, not refs, but the Dolphins.
Just think about this and remember: THREE WEEKS IN A ROW, we were driving in for the go-ahead touchdown midway in the 4th Quarter. In the Bengals game, Teddy and Gesicki mis-connected for an interception. Teddy’s flub cost us the game. Last week, the rookie TE Connor dropped an easy pass at the Jets, and that killed a drive. Jason Sanders missing the ensuing FG hurt as well. Yesterday, it was Jaylen Waddle single-handledly giving the Vikes 10 crucial points off of his turnovers. 3 or 4 mistakes in the last three games. That’s all. That’s why I’m not panicking. I just don’t see those trends continuing…
Admin I can agree with you it just hard to see us tied for last place in the East when we beat the teams ahead of us. Classic Dolphins always on the bottom of the hill looking up.
My mistake we didnāt beat the Jets! We should have but we were playing our 18th string QB!
My fantasy is for the NFL to realign the divisions via geography. Let us be in the same division as Tampa, Jax, and the Panthers.
We spent 20 years waiting for the Patriot juggernaut to subside, and as soon as they start to suck, we have the Bills juggernaut.
And the officiating. We had what looked like the same play when Teddy got hurt in New York and called a safety. It was called a safety there; but not here? āSelective Officiatingā perhaps?
Yes, that safety was identical, plus I saw the same thing on multiple games yesterday. I can live with the bad call against us, but I’m still really upset that Mike McD nor the organization as a whole made this into a big thing.
The league must explain this bad call. It needs to be debated as much as the hit on Tom Brady. It cost us the game
At the beginning of the season I was proud of the Dolphins “bend but not break” attitude. But at some point, you can’t expect that procedure to work everytime or overcome every situation. I mean, an offense that got “penalized 10 times for 97 yards” and was pushed out of field-goal range twice for doing it? And I’m not even going to mention that deflating fumble by Waddle in the forth quarter. That’s potentially 9 to 15 points the Dolphins squandered which would of handed them the game! Right now with the injuries the Dolphins have, Mike McDaniel’s coaching boat is charting in waters he’s never been in before. And during the rest of this season, all of his head coaching prowess (or all the head coaching prowess that he can muster) is going to be a nail biting test.
In the second half, there was that back and forth where we traded 3-and-outs with the Vikings like 5 times in a row each. Defense was superb, but the offense couldn’t even get a first down.
One negative about McD is he’s not good at designing plays to get out of our own territory when we’re back deep.
Remember late in the Bills’ game when we needed a first down to win the game. 10 yards and the victory was ours. Instead it was a predictable 3-and-out and then a safety.
A week later the Jets had us pinned deep. First down: a safety.
He has to do better at moving that ball. That being said, the players themselves have to step up as well for him.
Iām just curious about the qb situation yesterday. Since Skylar got hurt Bridgewater got to play. If Bridgewater got hurt would Tua have been out there yesterday? I donāt think we had any other backup active.
Cedric Wilson was the next in line to play QB. He may as well as he has done jack shit as a WR. I’m actually shocked as he looked like a nice fit but he’s a ghost. Cracraft has been better and cheaper!
Cedric Wilson is this year’s Will Fuller.
I’m seriously concerned that Tua won’t make it very long due to our terrible offensive line! Seems like the same old problem we’ve had for a decade! Don’t forget Sunday when we were moving the ball and penalty after penalty killed that drive!!!
Yeah, now that I’ve seen 3 different starting QBs in 3 straight weeks, I have to say that Tua is the weakest at evading pressure. He is infinitely better than Tannehill, but still I was impressed with Teddy and Skylar being able to sidestep a rusher to buy time. Tua needs to be aware of that. I think he sometimes tries too hard to take an extra split second to throw the ball, but our line cannot give him that second he needs, so the play blows up and he’s hurt. I think he will be extra careful on Sunday night, but the refs will be extra careful to protect him. I would not be surprised if they call the Steelers for roughing fouls on routine tackles.
Admin, I’m feeling that Tua is just too fragile for these NFL players. His durability has not been good so far (his bro who plays in college was carted off the field Sat.) just pointing that out. I would like to see Tua prove me wrong, but one more injury and he’s out, this team can’t continue with that with their QB.
As it was Jets Hate week last week, I’m hating them even more that they beat us and are in 2nd place in AFC East. As far as McD getting all angry and shouting at refs, I think we might see some of that this season, but how about Grier calling up the NFL and doing something about it!? He’s the GM and how about he doesn’t let the Dolphins get crapped on over and over again. I think McD being a newbie head coach, he doesn’t have the clout of a Belichek or Harbaugh, buy Grier’s been a GM long enough to make them hear the Dolphins wrath. But they hate the owner so that’s what we get!
I think Grier needs to back his team as well as McD is new and prob doesn’t want to rock the boat. Owner obviously can’t do jack shit best to lock himself in a closet.
Tua just needs to learn from his mistakes and not do too much. Just run slide or throw it out of bounds. First things first fix the oline so he doesn’t have to do it as often. Armstead simply needs to play and they’ll be fine hopefully he chopped his stinkin toe off and be done with it. AJ coming back wouldn’t hurt either this way the backup depth is better too.
There’s not a lot to be done by Grier or Ross or McDaniel. The NFL can’t go back in time and allow Teddy to play and finish the Jets game. BUT…just for the sake of the fans….or just to tell Goodell that we are not doormats, the Dolphins must speak up.
I saw Jerry Jones and Robert Handjob got into a verbal argument at the recent owners’ meeting. I LOVE their passion. Compare that to NY City resident Stephen Duhhh Ross.
Not just Tua, but any pro athlete,,,I am hesitant to say anyone is injury prone. The last two years, Tua has gotten devastating hits that might have injured anyone. I think his lack of evasiveness–not his DNA–contributes to that. Shitty offensive linemen (and poor schemes) hurt as well. I never wanted wanted JJ Watt on the Dolphins because as good as he is, he only plays about 4 games a year because of injuries. Injury prone? Yes. But is it his own fault? Who knows. Anyway, your point is true. If we have to draft a QB or keep a high-priced backup, it is not because we don’t have faith in Tua as a QB. We just don’t have faith in his health.
Byron Jones is another guy. Some guys heal from this injury in months, but for him it remains lingering. DNA? Bad luck? Poor Dolphins’ medical team? It’s all possible.
Waiting for the public/media/Union outrage over the Steelers’ Kenny Pickett practicing in full only 2 days after he got a concussion last Sunday…
Regarding ALL of our QBās multiple injuries, Iām still trying to figure out : How the hell does Josh Allen go out of his way to take on LBās, while scrambling, never runs straight out of bounds, to protect himself, all these games now, and seemingly doesnāt ever even get a scratch on his body. How is this possible ? You would think (and hope) that eventually this will catch up to him …. Like ALL of our QBās have had to.
Allen will eventually break down only takes one good shot. Herbert was anointed as invincible as well and he got hurt. Hasn’t played well since.
Either way GO FINS need a big win tonight! Hopefully everyone can make the chat. Smoking some ribs will eat before the game…
