The NFL has announced that the Dolphins will not get their season opener at home this Sunday.

The current option that seems more likely is that the Dolphins will have to give up their bye week later in the year, meaning that they’ll have to play 16 straight weeks in a row while all their competition gets a week off.   This is a horrible and unfair option.

No matter what, this means the Dolphins home opener will be October 8.   A full month of the season goes by before we get a home game.  1/4 of the year.  5th game before we’re home.  Ridiculous.    I encourage Mr. Ross to petition the league to move the Saints game in Europe back to Miami, where it should have been scheduled in the first place.

The long-shot other option is that the NFL finds a stadium for us to play in this Sunday.  I prefer this.   Sunday, September 10, has been on everyone’s radar for months now.  The fans and players are all excited and ready to go.  It would be a depressing disappointment for the NFL to take that away from us.  It’s what we’ve all been waiting months for, and I prefer that we stick to that date.  if we do play elsewhere, the Dolphins will only get 6 home games this year.   But I feel that’s a better option than accepting a home game in the middle of November when that has already been slated as your off week.

What do you guys think?

It will seem like a major letdown and all the excitement will be gone if we have to sit around Sunday with no Dolphins to watch. That’s why playing at a neutral site is better than waiting until November 19. Just find a stadium and announce it already.

  2. First this is on par with Goodells NFL which is anything to screw the Dolphins! When was the last positive thing the front office did for our team?

Two ways to look at this.

1 – We have a ton of injuries and could use another week to iron that out plus would another week of work for Cutler be a bad thing?

2 – 16 games straight? Nuts right! The Dolphins will need the bye to recover from the brutal road schedual they were inflicted with!

This is a no win, no good situation that we shouldn’t have been in. Yes the weather is bad but you know what screw highschool football and play on Friday, screw collage football and play on Saturday early, screw the NFL and how hard they would have to work and get the game ready for Thursday but oh no……. rather then do any of that lets screw the Dolphins!

No matter what they do – this sucks!
