Dolphins Truth

Dolphins Truth would like your comments on if you feel Ryan Tannehill has what it takes. Was Sunday’s loss a fair test, or was it the O-line’s fault?  Perhaps both.  That missed pass to a wide open Mike Wallace really hurt.  Two weeks in a row Tannehill made the identical mistake.  If he throws it to Wallace’s left, we score.  Instead he throws it to the right, and no score. Is Matt Moore capable?  Intriguing question.  The answer isRead More →

First, the HIGHS: The defense played well.   Yes, you read that right, and I’m sorry if you disagree.   The defense gave up only ONE touchdown to the Bills and their pathetic offense.  The Bills won the field-possession battles all day long, and our D held them to field goals. A great job, despite the 29 points.   The D simply couldn’t catch its breath with the way our O was playing. Jarvis Landry.   He’s catching the ball in traffic and is becoming reliable.   We need more of this, but so far his receiving is off to a good start. Caleb Sturgis.Read More →

With the final injury report in, the Dolphins will be without several important players, including Dannell Ellerbe and perhaps Koa Misi.  Meanwhile, the Bills might be missing a few low-level players who they won’t miss.  I still think the Dolphins win easily. The Bills are catching Miami at a good time.   If Buffalo hasRead More →

Several months ago, we at Dolphins Truth began studying the Dolphins’ upcoming schedule, and we circled the September 14 game at Buffalo. We even wrote an article about it, calling this the most telling game of the year. The result of this Bills game will tell the Dolphins and the fans all they need to know about the 2014 Dolphins. If we lose to the Bills, then that means the Week One Patriot win wasRead More →

The loss of Danell Ellerbe certainly stings, but it’s very good to know that the backup linebackers came through so well.  As we noted last Sunday,  we never thought that Jason Trusnik was a superstar, and maybe he still is not.   But he played his heart out on Sunday, and he certainly won our praise. Chris McCain proved he belongs, and we hope Wheeler and Misi can come back soon to complement him. The Patriots players and coaches were pretty respectful to the Dolphins in all their comments.  They admitted that the Read More →

First the Highs Cameron Wake.  His sacks were crucial to the comeback win. Knowshon Moreno.  We can only hope that Philbin drastically reduces Lamar Miller’s playing time.  Moreno earned his keep today. Offensive line. Anchored by Samson Satele, the line showed up today.  While they didn’t dominate every phase throughout the entire game, they played great ball.  The run blocking was strong, and the pass blocking held up.  These 5 guys canRead More →

First of all, let’s start with the Dolphins Truth Game Ball being awarded to… Samson Satele. That’s right.  After watching the game live and then studying it on tv, we are proud to give the Game Ball to center Samson Satele. While Knowshon Moreno (or Cameron Wake) are more popular picks, it was Satele whoRead More →

With Ryan Tannehill as the team’s sure starter and Matt Moore as the clear backup, the Dolphins were faced with an interesting dilemma this off-season. Pat Devlin, Brady Quinn, and Seth Lobato all had a legitimate chance to earn the #3 spot.  But what many people didn’t see coming was thatRead More →

First the best: Cutting Michael Egnew was the best move the team has made this off-season.  Egnew had two full years to earn his keep, and he did absolutely nothing.  Again.  The Ireland-Philbin era somehow was too blind to see that Egnew wasn’t a good player.   They gave him charity and kept him on the squad the last two years.   Thank goodness that new GM Dennis Hickey won’t stand for that nonsense andRead More →

A few random thoughts about recent Dolphins events. You can agree or you can disagree, but here at Dolphins Truth, it’s all about careful analysis and truth-telling to keep Dolphin fans as the best-informed fans in the NFL. Michael Egnew has been cut. This news is two years too late. We’ve been screaming for his realease for years. Here at Dolphins Truth, there’s an old lady who comes in and cleans our garbage bins each night. That old lady has the same number of NFL touchdowns as Michael Egnew. He was aRead More →

It’s probably a little too late, but the Dolphins owed this to Brady Quinn. Scam Cameron certainly owed him. It’s not a terrible move.  Pat Devlin just was not an NFL-caliber quarterback.  Quinn is.  Or was.  Or at least might be.   A maybe is better than a not. Quinn does have experience.  He’s never played for aRead More →
