Ross has zero concept of what “home field advantage” is. ZERO. NFL teams fight tooth and nail to gain home field advantage for the playoffs, and yet Ross just gives away precious home games as if they were pennies. Great, we get it. There are two distinct narratives about the Dolphins this off-season, and the differences are striking. I found this interview to be interesting, as Xavien Howard gave his views on new coach Mike McDaniel.  (link below) I’ve actually been waiting for this.  I’m waiting for some Dolphin players–particularly on defense–to buy into McDaniel.  I think it’s looking good so far.  It’s all well and good to hear from new Dolphins who know McDaniel already (like Raheem Mostert, for example).  But when your defensive superstar comes out and praises the coach’s energy, that’s a good thing. DeVante Parker is now a Patriot. After a slow start, the Dolphins hit a couple of potential home runs with the acquisition of a player who everyone knew would be available (Terron Armstead) and a player who nobody expected to be available (Tyreek Hill). Although I’m not impressed with any of our new free agent signings, I am very pleasantly surprised that the Dolphins have bolstered and re-signed our own free agents, especially on defense. I admit that the NFL’s salary cap rules are way over my head, but I also know that using a franchise tag on a player protects him and keeps him on your team…probably. We now interrupt our Stephen Ross Weekly Tankgate Drama with some different news… Doug Pederson has been hired by Jacksonville.  HE was the coach he needed.  By far the best option out there.
